  1. Coventry supporters group say club's been 'pushed out' by Waspspublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    Moira Rawlings
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

Coventry City FC is being "pushed out" of a facility that was built for them, a supporters group says.

Plans for a £7m training centre for Wasps, on the current site of the football club's academy, are set for council approval next week.

In the application Wasps offer the football club the use of the site for up to three hours a day, five days a week.

Jonathan Strange from the Supporters' Consultative Group says there "doesn't seem to be any provision" to continue an academy there and the council should show an "evenhandedness" to promote football as well as rugby in the city.

The Alan Higgs Centre was built primarily in mind of having the football club on the site and I cannot tunderstand why Wasps deem it necessary, out of all the sites they've looked at, to put themselves in a positon of owning the Higgs Centre.
