    A three year old Ghanan boy has had his lifesaving surgery to repair the hole in his abdominal wall , externaland is now recovering on an intensive therapy unit (ITU).

    Ethan Suglo was born with an exomphalos, meaning when he was born his gastric organs were outside of his body.

    Without the operation, Ethan would have been unlikely to live past the age of five.

    Dr David Williams, a GP in Shipston, met Ethan and his family whilst visiting his daughter Laura, who spent a year volunteering in Ghana, teaching with Project Trust.

    There's a call for rents and rates to be reduced to encourage more shops back to Nuneaton.

    The town's MP, Marcus Jones, wants a new plan to attract more shops and investment.

    More than 30,000 people attended this year's Warwick Folk Festival according to figures released by the organisers. 

    They say it was a record-breaking event bringing in thousands of people and 165 acts.

    There's slow traffic and two lanes closed on the M6 southbound between J10a M54 and J10, A454 (Wolverhampton), because of a vehicle fire, BBC Travel news reports.

    The A453 in Tamworth is blocked with stationary traffic in both directions at Bassetts Pole Island, because of an accident and recovery work.

    An extraordinary meeting of Coventry city Council, external has been arranged to call for a councillors resignation after he suggested people who do not speak English should go home.

    Glenn Williams resigned from the Conservative Party and is now an independent councillor for the Bablake ward.

    The leader of Coventry city council, George Duggins, and others have called a special meeting of the full council next Wednesday, 3rd August, calling for him to resign his seat.

    The meeting is also to re-allocate Glenn Williams' seats on the planning and health and scrutiny committees with immediate affect.

    A number of products seized in raids are being tested for a chemical that can lead to several health problems. 

    The raids, by trading standards officers in Coventry, follow an investigation by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire into premises that were selling illegal skin bleaching products.

    Police in Rugby are growing increasingly worried for an 87-year-old woman who's been missing since Monday., external

    They were alerted when Olga Marujo failed to answer a regular, daily phone call.

    The police say she suffers with dementia but is fit and active and it's out of character for her to go missing.
