    The number of people out of work across the West Midlands increased by 17,000 between May and July. 

    The latest official figures show that unemployment in the region increased to 176,000. 

    Nationally, the number of people without jobs and looking for work fell by 39,000 to 1.63 million between May and July, official figures from the Office for National Statistics show, external.

    Medals could beckon for three local Paralympians today.

    Stratford cyclist Megan Giglia is in the C1-3 Time Trial, while Coventry University's Hannah Cockcroft and city teenager Kare Adenegan go wheel-to-wheel in the T34 400 metres. 

    Leamington's Mandip Sehmi is in wheelchair rugby action and Nigel Murray is in the mixed individual boccia.

    Nuneaton Town gained their first home win of the season in a thrilling 4-1 victory over Altrincham in the National League North last night.

    Jaguar Land Rover says it's started work on its new manufacturing plant , externalin Solvakia. 

    The factory in Nitra is expected to open in 2018 and make about 150,000 vehicles a year  using lightweight aluminium technologies.

    The company says with plans already in place to take Jaguar Land Rover’s three vehicle manufacturing plants in the UK close to their operating capacity, the creation of overseas manufacturing facilities delivers additional volumes.

  18. CCTV appeal after car stolenpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 13 September 2016

    Coventry police have released CCTV images of two women, external they want to trace in connection with the theft of a car.

    Keys were taken from a property in Adelaide Street in the Hillfields area of the city and used to steal the vehicle - which has since been recovered and returned to the owner.
