    A total of £100m is to be invested at Jaguar Land Rover's factory in Castle Bromwich

    It follows high demand for its latest two Jaguar models, the XE and the F-Pace, with production of the XE moving to Birmingham from Solihull. 

    It takes the total invested in the Castle Bromwich site to more than £500m over the last two years. 

    Our Business Correspondent Peter Plisner will be there for us on our lunchtime programme at 13:30 on BBC1.

    Coventry University's Hannah Cockroft retained her T34 100m title ahead of Coventry Godiva teammate Kare Adenegan in silver position.

    She achieved a Paralympic record but said she would have liked to have broken the world record.

  5. JLR announces £100m investment in Castle Bromwichpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 12 September 2016

    Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced a £100m investment in its Castle Bromwich Factory. 

    Production of the XE model is to be gradually transferred from Solihull to the plant, marking the return to Castle Bromwich of all Jaguar sports and saloon car manufacturing.   

    JLR says the moves follow "huge customer demand" for the XE and another of its latest models, the F-PACE.

  7. HS2 rail link boss quits to join Rolls-Roycepublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 12 September 2016

    The boss of the controversial HS2 rail link is leaving to take up a senior post at Rolls-Royce, the aerospace and engineering group has said.  

    Simon Kirby will take up the role of chief operating officer, reporting to chief executive Warren East.

    Mr Kirby has earned a reported £750,000 salary at HS2, which will link London with the Midlands through Warwickshire.

    He said it had been a "huge honour" to work on the project, which critics say threatens swathes of countryside.

  12. Leamington Spa temple protest: Fifty-five arrestedpublished at 08:46 British Summer Time 12 September 2016

    A "small number" of people remain in police custody after 55 people were arrested following a protest at a Leamington temple in a row over inter-faith marriages.

    Police said a group of men, some carrying "bladed weapons", entered the Gurdwara Sahib in Leamington Spa around 0700 yesterday. It was later confirmed by police that all but one of the items were ceremonial.

    Former treasurer Jatinder Singh Birdi said a marriage between a Sikh and non-Sikh had been due to take place.

    Super David Gardener from Warwickshire Police said "most" of those arrested - on suspicion of aggravated trespass - had been released on bail, but some were still being questioned.

    Emergency crews spent the night dealing with the blaze in a two-storey property that spread to adjoining houses through the roof.
