    A Worcester lawyer is appearing in crown court later accused of attempted murder. 

    Iain Farrimond, 53, who lives on Battenhall Road, is alleged to have stabbed a woman in Worcester in May.

    A Herefordshire woman has returned home, months after doctors told her family they were only keeping her on life support so they could "say goodbye". 

    Sam Hemming, who's 22 and from Credenhill, was travelling back to Herefordshire from university when the car she was travelling in crashed.

    She was left in a coma, with four broken bones in her neck, three open fractures on her arm and internal bleeding, but now hopes to make a full recovery.

    Congestion northbound on the M5 is now backing up to J8, we understand, and is not expected to improve anytime soon.

    Diversions are in place via the M6 J6 exit, but commuter traffic, coupled with a big clean-up operation, mean problems could remain for some time.

  11. Eastham Bridge rebuild: Residents welcome news that construction is to beginpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 29 September 2016

    News that work will start next month rebuilding Eastham bridge, which collapsed into the River Teme, has been welcomed by local residents.

    They've faced 10 miles (16km) of diversions since May, when the 18th Century Grade II listed bridge collapsed.

    Worcestershire County Council say the work should be finished by April next year.

    Emergency services responding to crash on the M5 between J6 (Worcester) and J5 (Droitwich) have a job on their hands with reports one of the two lorries has overturned and caused a spill.

    It is so far unclear if other vehicles are involved.

  16. Baby in coffee shop gets unexpected role in Bronte filmpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 29 September 2016

    A baby in a coffee shop has saved the day for a film company who were shooting a new version of Wuthering Heights in The Old House musuem in Hereford.

    The baby who was due to be filmed got stuck in Birmingham, but the actor playing Heathcliff went into a nearby coffee shop and appealed for a stand-in.

    Antoinette Sullivan, who was there with baby Izabelle, stepped into the breach†, and the three-week old will now have a starring role, even if she has no lines.

    The production, being made by Three Hedgehogs Films, will be filming at Hampton Court in Herefordshire next week.

    The grateful company have given Izabelle a free photoshoot at their studios, as a thank you.
