    A Worcestershire woman has hit out at plans to cut therapy and counselling for sexual trauma in the county. 

    At the end of this month, Cathy - who was abused as a child - will lose the support she gets on the NHS, and could have to pay £60 to get the same privately. 

    She's is worried the progress she's made will be lost. 

    Worcestershire County Council says is yet to make a final decision on closing the county's sexual health and counselling team. 

    It says it is working with providers to ensure services can continue.

    A Kidderminster woman is raising £40,000 in order to undergo treatment for multiple sclerosis in Moscow because she's been told she isn't ill enough to qualify for it on the NHS. 

    Janet Voyce was diagnosed last year in June with the nervous system condition and has so far raised £9,000 of the total she needs to get the treatment from a specialist clinic.

    More people now die from illegal drugs in Worcestershire than on the roads. 

    Between 2013 and 2015, 59 people died from misusing illegal drugs in Worcestershire, and 19 in Herefordshire.

    The number of people dying because of illegal drugs in England and Wales has now reached its highest level since records began.

    A dog who's starred in Midsomer Murders is to hang up his lead after more than a decade in the entertainment industry. 

    His trainer, Ashley Foster, from Herefordshire, says he's a happy and healthy dog but is getting older, slower and little bit deafer.

  12. Teenager hit by car suffers serious head injurypublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

    A teenager has suffered a serious head injury after he was hit by a car in the centre of Hereford in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    The 19-year-old was struck as he crossed Bath Street at 00:15.

     A 70-year-old woman who was driving was not hurt.

    Police are asking, external anybody who saw the collision, or the teenager at any time on Saturday evening, to make contact.  

  13. Rural school budgets have 'little left'published at 16:39 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

    Worcestershire councillor Fran Oborski says the government is to blame for rural primary schools being forced to ask parents to help pay for basic equipment such as books. 

    Headteachers have told BBC Hereford and Worcester that low numbers of new pupils, as well as additional costs like funding free school meals for infants, mean there's little left in their budgets for anything other than staff salaries.

    A fairer funding formula, which would ensure every school has the money to match its needs, doesn't come into effect until 2018.   

  14. Worcestershire schools get £2,000 less per pupil than other areaspublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

    A Worcestershire campaigner says the government needs to do more to ensure rural schools have enough money to pay for equipment such as books.

    Schools in the county are getting around £2,000 less per pupil than in other parts of the country.

    A fairer funding formula, which will ensure every school has funding matched to its needs, is being introduced in 2018, but Fizz Bewley, who is from the Fair Pupil Funding campaign, says more needs to be done in the immediate term.

    A fish and chip shop in Hereford is in the running to be named the best new fish and chip shop in the country.

    Edwards Plaice is up against nine other shops in the category at this year's National Fish and Chip Awards.
