Plans for Grimsby Town's £55m new stadium have been revealed this morning.

Extreme Leisure is leading the project to build a 14,000-seater stadium on the town's Peaks Parkway.   

A new ice rink, restaurants, shops and housing are included in the proposal which is due to go before the council's cabinet next month.

It's going to be a very windy day across the region as Storm Barbara approaches. Do take care, especially if you're travelling. from the west. 

It'll be largely dry this morning, but we'll see outbreaks of rain slowly spread southwards, the rain patchy at first but becoming heavier throughout the afternoon. 

Blustery conditions this afternoon with gale or severe gale force winds, and highs of 10C (50F).

A Hull journalist has told me how she started a campaign to help the city's A&E after seeing first-hand how people are using it when they don't need to.

Allison Coggan is Hull Daily Mail's, external health reporter and has the backing of the three Hull MP's Alan Johnson, Diana Johnson and Karl Turner.

She says people need to know where they should be going instead:

Corporation Road in Grimsby's closed and there's slow traffic in both directions between the Gilbey Road junction and the Fisherman's Wharf junction because of a serious accident. 

This is also affecting Pyewipe Road between Westgate Roundabout and Lord Street.

There is heavier than usual congestion and queuing traffic on A18 westbound in Scunthorpe at the A1029 Brigg Road junction.

Police officers in Hull are gearing up for major events marking the City of Culture year.

I spoke to Assistant Chief Constable Andy McDyer, who is in charge of policing for the City of Culture and asked him what preparations the force had put in place:

You shouldn't run through red lights anyway but drivers will need to be extra careful in Hull soon.

The council is looking to begin a trial use of cameras and fine drivers who run through red lights.

A homeless man in Hull has been issued with the city's first Criminal Behaviour Order.

James Burnham was given the order for persistent begging. 

The CBO lasts for two years and prohibits him from being in the Mount Pleasant Retail Park on Holderness Road and South Street or from begging anywhere in the city.

The council says it demonstrates that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.

Poor old Percy has passed away.

He was a well-known resident of Newland Avenue in Hull.

Now the RSPCA is suggesting there should be a statue to remember him.
