    A man is in Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries after being hit by a car, external in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    The 27-year old was hit by a Volkswagen Sharan people carrier on Beverley Road in Hull, near the junction of Clough Road at around 03:45. 

    Police are appealing for witnesses.

    A man is in hospital with injuries to his face and arm after an assault in Cleethorpes, external in the early hours of Saturday morning.

    It's thought two men had been involved in an argument at the Lite House Club.

    The 26-year-old victim was walking home along Grimsby Road, close to the Memorial Hall when he was attacked at around 04:30. 

    Police have arrested a man, also aged 26, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. 

    Officers are asking for witnesses to come forward.

    Staff members at some Post Offices in our area will go on strike today.

    Workers who are members of the Communication Workers' Union are in a dispute over jobs, pensions and branch closures. 

    The Post Office says it is "extremely disappointed" by the action.

    Police are asking for help to find missing Hull man, Paul Smith, external.

    The 50-year-old was last seen in Compass Road yesterday just after 17:00.

    Friends and family haven't  heard from him since.

    A memorial commemorating Hull's fishing heritage has finally found a new home in the city centre. 

    The "Last Trip" has officially moved from a previous place in Priory Park to its new home in Zebedee's yard, the site of the old Trinity House School.

    A man's died in an accident on the A180, external near Barnetby Top.

    It happened at around 21:30 last night when a van collided with lorry that was parked in a layby. 

    The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene. 

    Police are appealing for information.

    Up to 13.1m viewers saw Ore Oduba and his dance partner, Grimsby's Joanne Clifton (pictured) lift the glitterball trophy and win the final of Strictly Come Dancing.

    The BBC sports presenter beat finalists Danny Mac and Louise Redknapp to win the 2016 series.

    At the start of the competition 15 contestants were in the starting line-up, with Oduba calling his victory "the most incredible experience of my life".

    Saturday's final also marked Len Goodman's last appearance as a judge.

    You might remember earlier this year we told you about the launch of flights from Humberside Airport to Denmark.

    There were two routes, to Billund and Aalborg, run by Sun Air. 

    Back in October, it was announced that the route to Billund was being stopped, because of a lack of demand. 

    Now the second route has also stopped.
