    Community Christmas Dinners have been set up across our region to try and combat the issue of loneliness.

    Age UK say being chronically lonely can have a similar health impact to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

    A dinner is held Hornsea Floral Hall every year which is attended by more than 100 people.

    It's 40 years ago today The Sex Pistols played a controversial gig in Cleethorpes.

    Jimmy Jackson who was in charge of the venue at the time spoke to Lizzie and Carl on breakfast this morning.  

    The legendary punk band were on a national tour to promote their new single, Anarchy in the UK.

    The band's lead singer, Johnny Rotten, caused outrage at the time when he swore live on TV. 

    All but a handful of those shows were cancelled but one of the gigs that went ahead was at Cleethorpes' Winter Gardens.

  13. Yorkshire and the Humber has the highest rate of male suicide in Englandpublished at 09:22 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2016

    The UK's Office for National Statistics has revealed figures showing the suicide rate in 2015 was highest in Yorkshire & Humber.

    The suicide rate in our area was much higher than the West Midlands, South East and the East of England.

    Figures show 430 men in the region took their own life last year according to the Office for NationalStatistics, external.

    Luke Ambler's brother-in-law recently killed himself so Luke launched a campaign to raise awareness of mental health issues among young men.

    People in East Yorkshire are dedicated recyclers with some 66% of all household waste being recycled by residents in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

    It's the second largest amount of material being recycled in the country as the national average is 44%.
