The company which sacked two groundsmen from the KCOM stadium have responded to criticism over their decision.
Darrell Cook and Mark Harrison worked as groundsmen for almost 30 years until they were told to leave.
In a statement SMC Management, their employer, said following an investigation both were dismissed for gross misconduct and a fundamental breach of the implied term of mutual trust and confidence.

A serious case review into the death of a four-week-old baby in Hull has revealed his dad committed a campaign of domestic abuse against his mother before the killing.
Tommy Lee Laverack Whitworth died in 2014 after he was violently shaken by his father, Liam Laverack, suffering catastrophic injuries.
The report by the Hull Safeguarding Children's Board, external reveals social workers knew about the incidents before the event which led to Tommy Lee's death but they stopped working with the family because they were satisfied with child's safety.
The chair of the board says the death of the baby could not have been foreseen and says the case has highlighted the need for agencies to improve early help sharing of information and pre-birth assessments.

The A63 eastbound near North Ferriby has re-opened following an earlier accident involving a bus and caravan.
There is still slow moving traffic, which is being blamed on people slowing down to look at the accident.
Hull City boss Marco Silva says he will have another meeting with the club's owner next week to discuss his future.
Hull City were relegated from the Premier League after they were beaten 4-0 by Crystal Palace at the weekend.
They will play Tottenham in the last game of the season on Sunday.
Marco Silva has indicated that the owners want to keep him at the club, but it remains unclear if he wants to stay with the Tigers.

Relegated Chesterfield have signed Scunthorpe duo Joe Anyon and Scott Wiseman on free transfers.
Former Port Vale goalkeeper Anyon, 30, and Gibraltar defender Wiseman, 31, have both signed two-year deals with Gary Caldwell's League Two-bound side.
Anyon played in Scunthorpe's third-tier play-off semi-final loss to Millwall.

Two painted murals which have been funded by Hull City of Culture 2017 have been revealed.
The work has been carried out over the last fortnight on Hessle Road and features those who worked in the city's fishing industry.
The artists behind the project hope that people recognise friends, family or local characters who appear on the mural.

Wrexham have signed Shaun Pearson after the defender was not offered a new contract by Grimsby Town.
Pearson made more than 250 appearances in six seasons at Grimsby and was part of the team which secured promotion to the Football League in 2016.
The 28-year-old has also played for Spalding, Stamford and Boston United.
"I'm delighted to be here and once the situation at Grimsby was made clear, there were some options for me," Pearson said.
"But this was the most appealing and we sorted it out nice and quickly."

People in East Yorkshire are being encouraged to read more to reduce the risk of dementia.
Staff from the East Riding Council are visiting venues handing out packs containing teabags, biscuits and eBook instructions.
Reading for pleasure and completing puzzles and other brain stimulating activities are believed to reduce the risk of the condition.
