    Tickets to see Arcade Fire, one of the worlds biggest bands, sold out in minutes this morning.

    The gig at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe was announced yesterday.

    It's the only one they'll perform outside of London before their headline set at the Isle of Wight Festival.

    Paramedics across Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire are carrying out a trial of small patches which could help save the lives of stroke patients.

    About 40,000 people in the UK die as a result of a stroke every year, and it the country's fourth biggest killer.

    More than 50 patients across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have so far been recruited to the trial and researchers say early results have been very promising:

    One of the world's leading photography awards will have its first public showing in Hull from tomorrow.

    Travel Photographer of the Year, external will stage an outdoor exhibition of the winning shots from last year's awards as part of Hull's Roots and Routes season.

    Joel Santos from Portugal claimed the prize last year with the picture above.

    People from over 120 countries entered the competition and photographers from 21 countries featured among the winners.

    You never know, if you pop along to the exhibition it might inspire you to enter the 2017 awards.

    The exhibition is open from 18 May to 30 June on Princes Dock Street.

    Two cages full of about 30 live mice have been found abandoned in a layby near Hull, the RSPCA has said.

    The owner of the rodents is now being sought after the discovery of the mice in a layby in the village of Preston at the weekend.

    The area is becoming a hotspot as other animals have been dumped in the same place, according to the RSPCA.

    Security is to be reviewed at the Humber Bridge after trespassers filmed themselves climbing the cables on Monday morning and then posted the footage online.

    At the moment, it's unlikely anyone will face prosecution as a result of the incident as no criminal damage has so far been reported.

    However, Humberside Police say they're working with the Humber Bridge Board to review security and are reminding people just how much danger those behind the footage were in.

    In a statement, the force warns: "From a safety perspective, we'd recommend people do not put themselves at risk by taking part in such potentially hazardous activity."

  10. Watch: Trespassers climb to top of Humber Bridgepublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

    Security at the Humber Bridge is under review after "urban explorers" posted a video showing them scaling the structure without safety equipment.

    The young men scaled a barrier and then used suspension wires as handholds to climb to the top of the bridge, which is 510 ft high.

    The climbers, led by London-based vlogger and urban explorer Harry Gallagher, who goes by the name of Night Scape, made the ascent on Monday morning before posting their antics on YouTube.

    Police in Scunthorpe have issued these picture of a man they want to identify after reports of indecent exposure in the town's Ridgeway on 8 and 10 May:

    On both occasions, the suspect was described as white, in his late 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with short dark hair.

    Anyone with information about the man's identity is being asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.

  12. Listen: Wi-fi for cancer patients after one-man campaignpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

    A man from Hull whose wife died of cancer has been successful in his campaign to get wi-fi installed at the Queens Medical Centre.

    Terry Garnett said his wife felt isolated during her time in hospital due to a lack of patient phones and a very poor mobile phone signal.

    Mr Garnett took it upon himself to raise funds which will now be used to install wi-fi on the ward.

    Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust said it was aware of the issue and says thanks to the generosity of local people and Terry's campaign it has now been able to find a solution.

    Final tests are being carried out on the new fountains in Hull's Queen Victoria Square.

    A total of 77 jets have been laid in the ground, with lighting effects built into them.

    It's also being promised the jets will also produce a mist.

    In case you've forgotten, today is the last day you can book official travel to BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in East Yorkshire, external.

    Each day, about 25,000 people are expected to travel to the festival which takes place at Burton Constable on 28 and 29 May.

    A park and ride shuttle is planned for the event in a bid to reduce congestion.

    The buses will run from Hull Paragon Interchange and Grove Hill, Beverley.

    There will also be park and ride services at Walton Street, Hull, and Normandy Barracks, Leconfield.

  18. Battle of the Somme soldier from Driffield to be laid to rest in Francepublished at 10:35 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

    A Yorkshire soldier who died in the Battle of the Somme during World War One is to be reburied after he was identified by DNA matching.

    The remains of Pvt Henry Parker, 23, who grew up in Driffield, were found where he had fallen in a field near Martinpuich on 26 September 1916.

    Pvt Parker's great nephew matched his DNA after fragments of the soldier’s bones were brought to a government laboratory to be analysed.

    After being told his DNA matched that of the soldier's, Francis Storry said: "I'm delighted. We will give him a good send off. I feel proud."

    Pvt Parker is due to be reburied with full honours later today in the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Warlencourt.

    The number of people out of work and claiming benefit in the Yorkshire and Humber region fell by 3,000 to 134,000 between January and March.

    That means that the unemployment rate in our region stands at 4.9%.

    Nationally, unemployment has fallen again, this time by 53,000 to 1.54 million.
