    A man is offering a £500 reward for the return of a bracelet containing his dad's ashes which was stolen three months after he died from cancer.

    Richard Moss (pictured top right), 39, died from a brain tumour in February. His ashes were put in silver bracelets made for his four sons.

    Chavez Robinson (pictured top left), 21, said the bracelet was of "massive sentimental value" and had been stolen from a van in Hull.

    Police said it was investigating the theft of a van.

    Concerns were raised last month about the number of sex workers operating in the area and there were complaints of an increase in crime.

    A man has been arrested after a cash machine was stolen from a petrol station on Main Road in Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire, on Tuesday.

    A fork-lift truck was used to rip the cash machine from the building during the early hours of the morning.

    The 28-year-old man is in custody and being questioned by detectives.

    Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

    Actress Carol Lee Scott, who was best known as Grotbags the witch on children's TV during the 1980s and early 1990s, has died at the age of 74.

    The character was created in Cleethorpes during a summer season when she was performing with Rod Hull.

    Her family confirmed the news on social media, with her niece Gina Mear writing on Facebook on Wednesday that the actress had "lost her brave fight against cancer".

    Work to investigate the poignant stories of Grimsby's heroic fishermen during World War One has been recognised.

    A project called "Grimsby's Lost Ships of WW1" is investigating at least 30 of Grimsby's trawler fleet that were lost in the North Sea as part of the war effort.

    The group's beaten hundreds to be shortlisted for the UK's Best Heritage project and is in with a chance of winning a £5,000 prize.

    Hull and the surrounding areas will become a film set from today as a collection of short science fiction films are being shot.

    The films are part of a project called 2097: We Made Ourselves Over - jointly commissioned between Hull UK City of Culture 2017 and Aarhus 2017 European Capital of Culture.

    The films will star a number of teenagers from East Yorkshire who will also travel to Denmark to film in Aarhus once filming in England is complete.

    Hull's City of Culture volunteers have been invited to celebratory tea parties from today, to thank them for their efforts in the first half of 2017.

    Four tea parties have been organised for today so that all volunteers can be accommodated.

    Police activity has increased around parts of Hull, in an effort to try and help women out of prostitution.

    That's according to Humberside Police who say they're responding to complaints from people living around Hessle Road that crime has increased in the area due to a rise in sex workers.
