  4. Watch: African dancers perform after mistaking East Yorkshire school for one in Londonpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Teachers at an East Yorkshire school got quite a surprise this morning when a group of Zulu dancers arrived for an unplanned performance.

    The group had come to St Anne's School and Sixth Form College in Welton, but were supposed to be booked in at another school in London.

    Despite the mix up, the group called the Lions of Zululand decided to stay and perform for children in Welton instead:

  5. MP urges government to resurface part of A180published at 16:56 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    A North East Lincolnshire MP has asked the government to resurface parts of the A180.

    It comes as the government sets out plans to give councils in England access to a multi-billion pound fund, for local road improvements.

    A giant mural has been created by national and local street artists at Grimsby Town's ground, Blundell Park.

    Linz and Tenz (pictured) from Grimsby are two of the four artists who made the mural.

    The mural is 80ft long and is designed to celebrate diversity in North East Lincolnshire.

  7. Yorkshire and Humber prescription fines double in last 12 monthspublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    The number of fines being issued to people in Yorkshire and the Humber region for not paying for their prescriptions has almost doubled in 12 months.

    Almost 130,000 penlty notices were issued by the NHS in the past year.

    The British Medical Association says the fines often hit those on low incomes, and there should be an overhaul of the prescribing system.

    The NHS Business Service Authority says it has a responsibility to chase up fraudulent and mistaken claims for free prescriptions as they cost the NHS millions of pounds which could be spent on frontline services.

  8. Police begin murder inquiry in Scunthorpepublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Police have launched a murder investigation after the discovery of a body around the Mary Street area in Scunthorpe (pictured) yesterday morning.

    A post mortem examination showed Kyle Bell, 25, died of stab wounds.

    Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

  10. Last Georgian buildings on Hull's Humber Street to be demolishedpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    The last remaining Georgian buildings on Humber Street will be demolished.

    Councillors voted in favour of the plans today despite objections from Historic England and the city's Civic Society.

    A body has been recovered from Grimsby Docks.

    Police were called at around 10:30 and crews from the Humber lifeboat have been assisting with the recovery.

    Police are trying to establish the identity of the person.

  13. Scunthorpe United sign deal with British Steelpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Scunthorpe's steelworks has signed a partnership deal with Scunthorpe United for the 2017-18 season.

    It means the British Steel logo will be on the club's kit (pictured).

    It follows the announcement last year that the club's new stadium would be built from local steel.

  15. Missing rapist could be in Bridlingtonpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    The search for a convicted double rapist has moved from Leicestershire to Yorkshire.

    Sean Perry (pictured), 46, who also uses the surnames Cawthray and Goldthorpe, was last seen at his probation-approved address in Leicester on 19 June.

    Perry is known to have links to Bridlington, Leeds and Suffolk, external and Leicestershire police ask people to look out for him and contact them if they see him.

  16. Power cut affects homes in Hullpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Almost 1,000 homes have been affected by a power cut in the Sutton Road area of Hull.

    Engineers are on site working to resolve the problem, according to Northern Powergrid.

    It's thought a problem with cables or equipment is responsible for the power cut.

    Power has now been restored to most homes, but 160 are still without electricity.

    It's hoped all power will be restored in the next hour.

    A new exhibition featuring items from poet Philip Larkin's personal life opens in Hull today.

    The majority of the new collection has never been shown to the public before and includes ties and photographs from his private collection.

    It's on show at the Brynmor Jones Library at the University of Hull where Larkin was the librarian.

  18. Man in court over Hull woman's deathpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    A man's appeared in court via video link charged with the murder of a woman in Hull last Thursday.

    Joanne Hemingway, 38, died following a disturbance on Beverley Road (pictured).

    Glenn Foster, 42, of Beverley Road, west Hull, is in custody and will face trial in November.

    Two women who were also arrested have been released while inquiries continue.

  19. Hull City head coach hopes to make first signings 'very soon'published at 11:25 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    New Hull City head coach Leonid Slutsky has addressed the local media for the first time.

    The 46-year-old Russian has been learning English over the past five months.

    Slutsky says he's happy to be in Hull with a professional club and players and that he hopes to make some new signings very soon, possibly with news before Tuesday.

    He also spoke about fish and chips which he has tried near Winchester - but he says he'll make sure he tries some fish and chips in Hull too.

  20. Government taking 'interest' in local hospital trustpublished at 10:58 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Scunthorpe MP Nic Dakin raised in the Commons his concerns over Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) being in special measures for quality and financial reasons. He said the NHS haven't given NLAG enough support.

    Earlier this year we reported that the hospital trust had become the first in the country to re-enter special measures.

    In response the Health Minister, Philip Dunne (pictured), said he's receiving weekly updates on what's happening:
