    Police had bricks thrown at their car after they went to investigate a case involving a stolen digger.

    The miniJCB, which was stolen from Scunthorpe at around 22.00 yesterday, had been loaded into a white van and driven away.

    It was discovered later on land in nearby Brigg - but when officers were called to the scene they were attacked.

    Any information about the incident on Mill Lane in Brigg, should be passed to police on 101.

    The MP for Grimsby is calling on the government to do more to support kinship carers.

    Melanie Onn says people who look after the children of other family members, as well as their own, are missing out on thousands of pounds a year due to an unfair loophole in the law.

    In the last twelve months, hospital trusts in our region failed to meet the government's A&E target of seeing 95% of patients within four hours, BBC research has found.

    The research says in September Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust saw 87.4% of patients within four hours and the government target hadn't been hit since September 2015.

    In September Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust saw 86.5% of patients within four hours and hadn't hit the government target since August 2014.

    Both trusts say this month 91% of patients are being seen within the 4 hour target while they're having to deal with an increase in demand.

    A Bridlington fisherman has dredged up what he thinks could be parts of a plane wreck off the East Yorkshire coast.

    The risks associated with surgical mesh implants for people in this region are being discussed in parliament.

    The implants are used by surgeons to treat pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence in women and hernias.

    Most operations are a success but some suffer complications.

  6. One of Grimsby's biggest employers bought out for £80mpublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 18 October 2017

    A meat processing company that supplies Europe and Australia has confirmed it's bought out one of Grimsby's biggest employers.

    Icelandic Group put Seachill up for sale in April.

    Hilton Food Group, which is based in Camrbdigeshire, says Seachill will become a division of the company and existing managers will remain in place.

  7. Man on roof now in police custodypublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 18 October 2017

    A man who has been on a rooftop in Hull for around 20 hours has come down and is now in police custody.

    The man took to the roof around 15:00 yesterday afternoon and Beverley Road has been closed at the junction with Freetown Way and Fountain Road since yesterday evening.

    Police say the road will remain closed until the carriageway can be cleared.

    The man who has been on a roof in Hull is wanted for a number of offences according to Humberside Police.

    The man has been on top of a roof on Beverley Road for around 19 hours and a police cordon has been put in place on the road at the junction with Freetown Way and Fountain Road.

    Police say he is known to them and is wanted for a number of offences "some of which are serious".

    Hull City Council has made more than £1.5m from bus lane camera fines in the past two years.

    Fifty thousand have been issued since they were introduced in August 2015, according to local authority figures.

    Each fine costs motorists £60 but is lowered to £30 if they pay within 21 days.

    St Charles' Voluntary Catholic Academy is closed today due to the ongoing incident with a man on a roof.

    The man has been on the roof since yesterday afternoon and the police closed Beverley Road between Fountain Road and Freetown Way yesterday evening.

    A couple who had sex against the counter of a pizza delivery shop have been given community orders.

    Daniella Hirst, 29, and Craig Smith, 31, were captured on CCTV in a Domino's shop in Scarborough in February.

    Hirst, of Bridlington, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency and Smith, also of Bridlington, was found guilty in his absence in September.

    Magistrates in Scarborough said the couple had come "very close to going to prison".
