    A BBC investigation has revealed that house prices have gone down in 92% of the wards in Yorkshire and the Humber compared to 10 years ago.

    In parts of Hull's Bransholme house prices are down 43% after adjusting for inflation.

    Eleven-year-old Leah Taylor (pictured) hasn't been seen since she left her school in the Holderness Road area of Hull around 12:10 yesterday lunchtime.

    Police are appealing for help to find her.

  3. Plans to demolish BHS building in Hullpublished at 08:29 British Summer Time 17 October 2017

    Hull City Council plans to buy and then demolish the former BHS and Edwin Davis buildings as it pushes ahead with plans for a new ice arena in the city centre.

    The local authority expects the work and its search for a lead developer for the Albion Street project will cost more than £5m.

    The BHS mural would be included in any future building design.

    A final decision will be made on whether the compulsory purchase will go ahead at a full cabinet meeting on Monday.

  10. Life-saving training for hundreds of young peoplepublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    Hundreds of children across Hull and East Yorkshire have been learning life-saving CPR today.

    As part of a national campaign, Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff and volunteers went in to schools to teach pupils about the technique which can increase the chances of survival when someone has had a cardiac arrest.

  12. Watch: Stranded dog walkers rescued in Cleethorpespublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    Two dog walkers had a narrow escape after becoming stranded on a sandbank in Cleethorpes.

    Cleethorpes RNLI says the pair, from West Yorkshire, had been walking their dogs on the beach, when the tide came in around them.

    The inshore lifeboat was launched and the two ladies and their dogs were brought safely to shore.

  13. BAE Systems cuts to be raised at Westminsterpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    Members of the trade union Unite will raise the issue of job losses at BAE Systems in East Yorkshire at a meeting in Westminster tomorrow.

    It comes as more than 140 MPs have signed a letter calling for a new order of aircraft for the Red Arrows to be brought forward, to help save jobs at the site in Brough, where Hawk aircraft are made.

    Last week it was announced that 400 jobs could go at the site.

    The taxi firm Uber says its plans to operate in Hull are on hold for now.

    The company says it had hoped to get a licence to work in the city, but didn't submit the necessary paperwork in time.

    Last month, Transport for London refused Uber a new private hire licence, saying the ride-hailing firm was not fit and proper.

    Uber has filed an appeal against that decision.

  15. Campaign to save bricks made by school children in Hullpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    A campaign has been set up to save 16,000 bricks made by schoolchildren in Hull for a City of Culture exhibition.

    Children at more than 150 nursery schools and children's centres across the city were given the chance to personalise their own brick.

    They're currently on display at the C4DI building but there are fears they could be destroyed once the exhibition is finished.

    Parents are now calling for the bricks to be saved.

    Carla Coyle, who has set up a Facebook page called "Save our 16,000" said, "We believe they should be built into a wall or something that can remain forever to show the children that they can grow up and make an impact on this city."

    That could happen as part of the Hull Beermat Festival, which is looking for the best photos of the city in 2017.

    Hull New Theatre might just have reopened after a £16m refurbishment, but it's also celebrating its 78th birthday today.

    The first show at the theatre was a production of Me and My Girl on Saturday 16 October 1939 at the start of the Second World War.

    The theatre building was originally the city's Assembly Rooms, which opened in 1830.

  19. 'No further investigation' in to Hull Fair ride failurepublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    Health and safety officers say there will be no further investigation into how a ride at Hull Fair broke down and left some passengers stranded for more than five hours.

    A fault with the Power Tower ride left riders, aged between nine and 60, trapped at around 70ft (21m) in the air on Friday 13 October.

    Some weren't freed by the fire service until 01:00.

    Hull Fair said its safety equipment had worked properly, but apologised for any inconvenience caused.
