Officials from Yorkshire Water and members of Hollym Parish Council visited Anglian Water’s Aero-Fac waste water treatment facility in Cambridgeshire to see how a similar treatment works could work in Withernsea.
The new £30m facility will replace the existing Withernsea Waste Water Treatment Works because it needs to be relocated.
Yorkshire Water say the Aero-Fac process is a biological, aerated treatment process which is low carbon, low energy and for the majority of time is powered by wind.
If planning permission is granted, work is expected to start on the waste water treatment facility in the spring of 2020 and completed in the summer of 2021.

"Our primary concern is to ensure that schools are given guidance, up-to-date information and reassurance and above all that everyone is safe."
