    About 260 properties in Hull have been without power since yesterday evening.

    Some 450 customers were affected, but Northern Powergrid say it's fixed the problem for at least some of its affected customers in the HU6 area.

    Engineers say they hope to restore the supply in the next hour.

    It is due to a problem with the cable which supplies the area.

    Swift Group won the Red Dot Award 2018 for the high design quality of its Basecamp caravan interior.

    It was designed with climbers, cyclists and other outdoors adventurers in mind.

    Swift’s design director says designers had to be both clever and creative.

    Hospital trusts in the Humber region bought a total of 2,329,626 disposable cups in the past five years, new figures show.

    But the NHS trusts which run hospitals in Grimsby, Goole, Scunthorpe and Hull have now drastically cut the amount of disposable cups they are buying.

    Hull and East Yorkshire NHS trust bought 1,547,673 plastic cups five years ago, but that dropped to 70,450 last year.

    Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust bought 55,000 five years ago, but only bought 4,000 last year.

    Meanwhile, Humber NHS Foundation Trust has also reduced its disposable cup quota - buying just 1,400 last year compared to 2,702 five years ago.

    The data was obtained through Freedom of Information requests by the Press Association.

    A new dance class has started in Hull specifically adapted for people with Parkinson's disease.

    It is thought gentle movement can ease some of the symptoms of the condition which can leave sufferers struggling to walk, speak and sleep.

    The weekly sessions at Hull Truck are run by Tenfoot Dance Company and gymnastic choreographer Pauline Phillips.

    The classes also feature live music by former Beautiful South percussionist Gary Hammond.

    The oldest surviving public pool in Hull is due to close later today ahead of the opening of a new multi-million pound leisure centre in the city.

    The Victorian East Hull Pools opened to the public in 1898, but will close today before the opening of the Woodford Leisure Centre further down Holderness Road.

    The building is currently for sale by Hull City Council and is not listed or in a conservation area.

    Adam Fowler, from the City of Hull and Humber Environment Forum, says: "Hopefully this fine old building and character of East Hull will be saved and have a new use and future."

    North East Lincolnshire Council could get rid of the freehold on the historic Grade II-listed Welholme Galleries.

    It's a Gothic building and there were once plans to turn it into a 250-seater theatre - but that never happened.

    An East Yorkshire chef is in New York to promote the county as a culinary and tourist destination.

    Michelin star chef James MacKenzie (pictured), from the Pipe and Glass in South Dalton, has created a Yorkshire-themed menu as part of a competition hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire.

    Guests will be treated to seafood, braised beef in local ale, Yorkshire Pudding and parkin for dessert.

    There is concern for the safety of Hull teenager Dominic McKinson who's been missing since yesterday morning.

    The 19-year-old was last seen on Wexford Avenue where he parked his car at around 11:00 yesterday.

    He is described as 5' 11", of mixed-race, slim build and was wearing a grey tracksuit with a black North Face jacket and black Nike air trainers.

    Humberside Police are appealing for anyone who sees him to contact them on 101 quoting log 459 09/04/18.

    A sheep was stolen, killed and dumped at a roadside, according to police.

    The animal was taken from a farm on Keyingham Road in Ottringham between 05:30, 7 April and 08:00, 8 April.

    It was then found mutilated near Halsham drain the next day.

    Humberside Police are appealing for information.

    A police investigation into the financial running of a collapsed academy chain has found that no crimes were committed.

    Wakefield City Academies Trust (WCAT) announced in September last year it was giving up its 21 schools because it could not rapidly improve them.

    A police spokesperson said: "No crimes have been recorded." and a WCAT spokesperson said: "We are pleased to hear the police inquiry has ended."

    The trust ran 14 primary and seven secondary establishments across West, South and East Yorkshire, providing education to about 8,500 children.
