    A three-month exhibition featuring prisoners' artwork starts in Hull tonight.

    The HMP Humber Art Department is working with Artlink (pictured) on Princes Avenue to create the event, which will also feature a life-size prison cell for people to look around.

    It says the classes are helping inmates to improve their confidence and self-esteem.

    There'll be a preview tonight at 18:00 and the exhibition will then run Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 16:00.

    House prices in Yorkshire and the Humber have seen one of the biggest rises in value in Britain since the start of 2018, new figures show.

    Statistics compiled by property search firm Zoopla show house prices in the region grew by an average of £2,750 between 1 January and the end of March this year - an increase of 1.85%.

    The average house price in the Yorkshire and the Humber region now stands at £177,103, according to the latest figures.

    Batley, in West Yorkshire, is among the top 10 towns in the country which have seen the biggest increase in house price value in the first quarter of this year.

    The average house price in the town now stands at £143,947 - a rise of 2.77%, or £3,878, since 1 January.

    However, Immingham, in North East Lincolnshire, has emerged as the town with the weakest growth in property values in the whole of Britain, according to the new figures.

    The average value of a house there is £119,708 - a fall of 1.72%, or £2,097, since the start of the year.

    Ripon, in North Yorkshire, has also seen one of the biggest falls in house prices so far in 2018 - with the average house price standing at £282,885 - a fall of 1.08% since the turn of the year.

    A Hull charity is looking for donations of clothes and sleeping bags to take to northern France to help people escaping conflict.

    Hull Help for Refugees says although media attention isn't as focused on places like Calais anymore, there are still makeshift camps there which have been set up by people trying to reach Britain.

    The organisation believes there are close to 1,000 people living rough in the area and many more outside other coastal towns across the English Channel.

    A new movie which is fully filmed in East Yorkshire and has an all-local cast is soon going to be shown at a cinema in Hull.

    Some Kind of Love was written and directed by Jack Grewer who hopes to take the production to film festivals in a bid to attract attention from companies like Amazon Prime and Netflix.

    A one-off showing of the film is taking place on 27 April at Vue Cinema in Hull and a trailer has also been released, external.

    Plans to regenerate a run-down part of Grimsby are due to be discussed today.

    Freeman Street was once a thriving shopping street, but in recent times it's declined with vandalism and boarded up shops.

    But now the Enrolled Freemen of Grimsby are hoping to breathe new life into the street after they acquired some derelict land.

    Today, an event's being held with architects, businesses and residents to look at the future of the street.

    The waste and recycling team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been shortlisted for two National Recycling Awards.

    The service, which manages the collection and recycling of residents’ household rubbish, has been nominated for Team of the Year and Campaign of the Year in the public/third sector categories.

    The winners of the National Recycling Awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday 28 June.

    Humberside Police says they've arrested a person in connection with the shop burglaries in Hull city centre earlier this week.

    One of Hull's Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessment centres is temporarily closed for refurbishment and there are concerns people in Hull would have to travel to Grimsby or Bridlington to be assessed.

    The Department for Work and Pensions say Hull's other PIP assessment center at the Highlands Health Center remains open.

    They add that no one is expected to travel more than 90 minutes by public transport or 60 minutes by car to a face-to-face assessment.

    The Wilberforce Health Centre (pictured) will re-open when the work by the landlord is complete.

    A dentist has admitted asking a man to get the date-rape drug GHB so it could be used on his wife who he suspected of being unfaithful.

    Majid Mustafa (pictured) had wanted to get hold of a date rape drug to help him find out if his wife Renata Antczak was having an affair.

    Renata Antczak has been missing from Hull since April 2017.

    Mustafa, 48, of Harrow Road, London encouraged his friend Robert Lipinski to obtain a noxious substance.

    A jury at Doncaster Crown Court was told he also installed spy cameras in his wife Renata Antczak's car and used software to monitor her phone calls.

    Mustufa has pleaded guilty to one charge of intentionally encouraging another to commit an offence.

    In this case, between 30/03/17 and 24/04/17, encouraging Robert Lipinski to obtain a noxious substance, so this noxious substance could be administered to Renata Antczak with the intention to injure, aggrieve or annoy.

    Mustafa has been given a conditional discharge of 12 months.

    It's reported a man in his early 20s was found inside the Clifton Primary School (pictured) on Burslem Street by the caretaker this morning.

    He's described as skinny build, 6ft tall and wearing a parka-style jacket.

    The East Riding Football Association says it's extremely disappointed its Senior Cup Final won't be held at the KCOM Stadium for a second year in a row.

    Last year, the organisation said it was priced out by the SMC, which runs the ground.

    It eventually found the funds only to be told it was too late to organise it there for the first time in 70 years.

    The FA says it's been told it's 99% likely the event won't be held at the KCOM this year either.

    We're still trying to reach the SMC for a comment.

    New figures have revealed A&E waiting times in England have dropped to their worst level since the introduction of the current target in 2004.

    Just 84.6% of patients were seen within four hours in March 2018 - well below the 95% threshold.

    In our area 76.4% of patients were seen within four hours last month in Hull and East Yorkshire (pictured above).
