Andrew Percy, the MP for Brigg and Goole, has said the news that 94 new underground trains will be built at the new Siemens factory in Goole is "brilliant".
The contract will help bring 700 new manufacturing jobs to the town and an estimated 50 new apprentice and graduate positions will be created.
The contract is worth £1.5 billion to Siemens.
Quote MessageIt's brilliant news and perhaps we should be a bit nicer about all the investment going on in London. This investment in London is something we can all be grateful for because it means hundreds of jobs here and millions on pounds being spent in Goole.

Strike action by staff at three Yorkshire colleges which was due to take place from Monday has been called off.
Hull College Group, which runs colleges in Hull, Goole and Harrogate, has begun a restructuring plan to deal with a £10m deficit, putting 231 jobs at risk.
Monday's strike was planned to follow a three-day walkout in May by University and College Union (UCU) members.
In a joint statement, Hull College Group and the UCU say the strike action next week has been suspended following "positive" talks.
Both groups say they will continue to work together to avoid compulsory redundancies as part of the restructure:
Quote MessageWe mutually recognise that the past few years have been very challenging for staff and students at Hull College Group and we share the joint ambition to bring about positive changes to ensure we continue to be vibrant and exciting places to learn and a good place to work."
