    A church hall’s surroundings have been revitalised with cash from a district council community fund. 

    Thurlby Methodist Church applied for a grant from South Kesteven District Council to refurbish its adjacent hall with major work to its roof, floor, windows and decor.

    Members of the church are pictured in the hall which now hosts a dozen local community clubs a week.

    A Skegness man who murdered a woman at his home in the resort last summer has been jailed for life.

    Lincoln Crown Court heard Casey Scott had lured Lenuta Haidemac (below) to his home on Drummond Road.

    Ms Haidemac had been living in Boston with her partner and their two children after moving to the UK from Romania in 2015. 

    Casey admitted strangling and stabbing her in July last year at a hearing earlier this month.

    There could be a rise in council taxes if Lincolnshire swaps some of its councils for a unitary model. 

    The leader of East Lindsey District Council, Craig Leyland, says he's not rejecting a change completely, but has concerns over the costs.

    The leader of Lincolnshire County Council, Martin Hill, says streamlining to just one or two bodies for the whole county could save millions.  

    Councilor Hill unveiled the idea yesterday - he wants to put to it a referendum later this year. But it's also been given a lukewarm response by the leader of City of Lincoln Council, Ric Metcalfe.

    Health bosses have apologised to patients for distress caused over a damning inspection at a Lincolnshire doctors' practice. 

    Wainfleet surgery was closed at the end of last year after concerns were raised over patient safety.

    report by health watchdog the CQC, external, published last week and pictured above, showed it had failed inspections across the board. 

    The commissioning group has now described it as a disturbing report. The surgery has been closed permanently, but local NHS managers say they hope to provide a part time outreach service.

    Plum Products hit the headlines when its trampoline was used by bouncing dog - Buster -  in the commercial.

    Police are appealing for help to find a Grimsby man who is wanted in connection with an assault.

    Officers say searches for 27-year-old man Luke Kauss have proved unsuccessful and he is being urged to hand himself into police.

    The mother of a moped rider killed by a dangerous driver in Lincolnshire has urged motorists to think about the consequences of their actions. 

    Jess Danby, who was 19, died after she was hit head-on by a car over-taking in thick fog on the A52 at Frampton.

    Jess's mum Dawn Ducker - from Donington, near Spalding - says that reckless moment in October 2015 has destroyed "so many lives".

    Philip Paddington-Wheatcroft, from Main Road, Sibsey, was jailed on Friday for causing Jess's death by dangerous driving.

    The inquest into the deaths of thirty British people killed in a terrorist attack in Tunisia will today focus on a woman from Scunthorpe. 

    Claire Windass died when a gunman attacked a beach resort in Sousse in June 2015. 

    Bruce Wilkinson from Goole, Carly Lovett from Gainsborough and Christopher and Sharon Bell from Leeds were also killed in the attack.
