    Quote Message

Swearing anywhere is more prevalent than ever before and is just a sign of the general dumbing down in our present society. People nowadays simply do not seem capable of stringing a sentence together without swearing."

It's been ever thus at football matches. Would be good to implement sanctions in the Family stand however."

  18. County Council leader calls for referendum over scrapping councilspublished at 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2017
    Breaking

    Sharon Edwards
    Political Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

Leader of Lincolnshire County Council, Martin Hill, has said a vote will go before the council over whether to get rid of the current council system and replace it with a unitary authority.

It'll take place on 24 February and - if approved - the referendum will take place at the same time as County Council elections on 4 May.

Currently Lincolnshire has one county authority and 7 district councils. Mr Hill says it could save up to £150m over five years if they were replaced with unitary system.
