Six fire crews are currently tackling a blaze at a commercial premises in Lincoln, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service says.

The fire is just off Doddington Road, and they're advising anyone nearby to keep their doors and windows shut.

About 4,700 properties are thought to have been affected by power cuts after gale force winds hit Lincolnshire today.

Look a bit familiar? Well that's because the properties affected are pretty much falling under the projected path of Storm Doris.

Here's the latest update from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service on what's turned out to be a pretty busy day for them thanks to Storm Doris:

If you're planning on catching a train this afternoon, just be aware there are lots of delays and cancellations because of Storm Doris.

Virgin Trains East Coast, Transpennine Express and East Midlands Trains are all affected.

A 50mph speed limit has been imposed by Network Rail.

Here's that all-important weather forecast for the rest of Thursday and into Friday .

Severe gales will continue this afternoon, with gusts of 60mph likely anywhere, and about 80mph in Skegness and along the coast, with a top temperature of about 10C (50F).

This evening and tonight, the wind will ease and rain will mostly clear, but there will be a few showers. 

It will be a colder night than of late with a minimum temperature of about 2C (36F).

They're going to Horncastle, Lincoln, Market Rasen and Skegness to pick up pupils.

It's not just trees facing the wrath of Storm Doris today, take a look at what happened at Riverside Drive in Lincoln. 

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service has offered some very timely advice as power cuts continue across parts of the county due to high winds and damaged electricity cables:

Trees are coming down left, right and centre in Boston at the moment as Storm Doris continues to blow hard and fast across Lincolnshire.

Almost 4,000 homes are now without power in Lincolnshire as winds continue to strengthen during Storm Doris, Western Power Distribution says.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service has also now issued this warning:

Lincolnshire Police are advising people to not make journeys if they don't have to, external because of fallen trees, downed power lines and dangerous driving conditions.

They say they've also received reports of "'flying trampolines and gazebos".

Not even BBC Radio Lincolnshire towers is safe: branches are coming off the trees in the graveyard next to our building.

As we've shown you, a lot of trees are coming down because of the high winds today.

Boston Borough Council has now closed the park over safety concerns:

A "very, very high number" of wind-related incidents are being reported at the moment, Lincolnshire Police says.

The force has received at least 60 reports so far today as Storm Doris batters the county.

Jemma Peacock, from Lincolnshire Police, says: "It's obviously very, very windy. The issues are things like trees falling into the road, overhead power cables and anything not fixed to the ground is potentially a hazard. That's what we're seeing right across the county."

People must "use their common sense" when heading outdoors at the moment, she adds.

Another tree has come down as Storm Doris continues to do her worst - this time in Bilsby near Alford.

Police are on the scene trying to get it moved.
