    Six fire crews are currently tackling a blaze at a commercial premises in Lincoln, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service says.

    The fire is just off Doddington Road, and they're advising anyone nearby to keep their doors and windows shut.

    About 4,700 properties are thought to have been affected by power cuts after gale force winds hit Lincolnshire today.

  4. Train services hit by Storm Dorispublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2017

    If you're planning on catching a train this afternoon, just be aware there are lots of delays and cancellations because of Storm Doris.

    Virgin Trains East Coast, Transpennine Express and East Midlands Trains are all affected.

    A 50mph speed limit has been imposed by Network Rail.

    Here's that all-important weather forecast for the rest of Thursday and into Friday .

    Severe gales will continue this afternoon, with gusts of 60mph likely anywhere, and about 80mph in Skegness and along the coast, with a top temperature of about 10C (50F).

    This evening and tonight, the wind will ease and rain will mostly clear, but there will be a few showers. 

    It will be a colder night than of late with a minimum temperature of about 2C (36F).

  15. Storm Doris: Police report 'flying trampolines and gazebos'published at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2017

    Lincolnshire Police are advising people to not make journeys if they don't have to, external because of fallen trees, downed power lines and dangerous driving conditions.

    They say they've also received reports of "'flying trampolines and gazebos".

    Not even BBC Radio Lincolnshire towers is safe: branches are coming off the trees in the graveyard next to our building.

  17. Storm Doris: 'Very high number' of wind-related incidents - Policepublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2017

    A "very, very high number" of wind-related incidents are being reported at the moment, Lincolnshire Police says.

    The force has received at least 60 reports so far today as Storm Doris batters the county.

    Jemma Peacock, from Lincolnshire Police, says: "It's obviously very, very windy. The issues are things like trees falling into the road, overhead power cables and anything not fixed to the ground is potentially a hazard. That's what we're seeing right across the county."

    People must "use their common sense" when heading outdoors at the moment, she adds.
