It's been four years in the waiting, but Horncastle finally has a youth centre once again.

    Youth centre

Last night it was relaunched with the help of local volunteers, police and the county council.

Other community groups are also being invited to use the building, off Jubilee Way, to help with funding.

The local Lions group has donated £500 to the youth centre, and president Steve Flood says it made sense to do so:

Today marks the start of an inspection of East Midlands Ambulance Service, external (EMAS) - and no doubt health bosses are hoping the results have improved from last year.

    EMAS

Last time, the health watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC) criticised a shortage of staff and vehicles at EMAS and said in particular it needed to address safety concerns over delays in taking people to hospital.

It wasn't all bad, though. It was rated "good" in two of five measures, including the care it provides.

EMAS says it welcomes this new inspection and has "invested a significant amount of time" addressing the CQC's concerns.
