  1. Waste sticker blunder in Bostonpublished at 10:47 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2017

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Lincolnshire Live

If you live in Boston then you may have got a few more garden waste stickers than you bargained for in the last few days.

Residents can pay to receive the service.

The Borough Council sends you the sticker which you put on your bin so they know to pick it up.

But there's been a bit of a miscalculation - Roy Hackford in Fishtoft got 14!

He's not the only one either, the council say it's down to a system fault which has now been fixed.

    Quote Message

Customers who have received multiple yellow stickers will only be charged for the service they have requested. Our in-cab systems will show the correct amount of services for each property and we have a log of those customers that have received extra service stickers."

It's hoped the scheme will ease congestion in the city centre.

These things take time. We're not going to be inundated from day one, it'll be a slow burn but I think gradually it'll become part of the infrastructure of the city and something that we hope will be sustainable long term.
