Now, here's something that doesn't happen every day.

A man from Lincolnshire had to call 999 after being bitten by a snake!

Ray Peters from Lincoln was gardening when he felt a sharp pain in his wrist.

Turns out he was bitten by an adder - the UK's only venomous snake!

    Ray says he felt awful:

The NHS advice if you think you have been bitten by a snake is to call 999 or get to the nearest A&E department.

They say do not try to suck the venom out of the bite and do not try to catch the snake.

Now yesterday we told you that East Lindsey District Council are going to charge 20p at 13 toilets in the area.

Well, the Mayor of Skegness,Danny Brookes, isn't too impressed.

He says introducing charges for public toilets in the resort is the wrong decision.

    Quote Message

There's nothing we can do about it because East Lindsey rule the roost, but it's not just for tourists. Our residents in Skegness who pay the same council tax as everywhere else have now got to pay to use toilets, whereas if you live in Wragby or Burgh le Marsh you won't be paying.

The district council is introducing a 20p charge at 13 sites including Queens Park in Mablethorpe, the Bus Station in Louth and at Tower Gardens in Skegness.

Over the next three years East Lindset District Council needs to reduce its running costs by £3m to £4m.

They say introducing a charge at the toilets will generate around £217,000 a year.

The toilets cost £542,000 to run.

    Quote Message

Given the financial pressures faced, the board felt a 20p charge was a better way forward than reducing the number of toilets provided in these locations.

It's come from eight-year-old George Howden who entered a competition to name to ambucopter.

He wanted it named after his pet tortoise - Horace.

The team (obviously) loved the suggestion.

So here it is - Horace the helicopter!

Over the last week or so we've seen heightened pressure in all the departments but particularly at Pilgrim hospital. Normally Pilgrim would see 150-160 patients going through each day but we're up to 180-190.
