    Seven people are still being held in connection with a death in Boston on Saturday, after Lincoln Magistrates granted the police an extension to question the men further.

    A post mortem examination has found the man from Boston died as a result of being assaulted.

    He was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital from the incident on Pen Street but died the following day.

    Police want anyone with information to ring 101 or contact the charity Crimestoppers, external.

  2. Appeal for witnesses after supermarket bag snatch attemptpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted bag snatch in Lincoln at 10.20 on Thursday, 31 August.

    The victim was loading shopping into the boot of her car at the Aldi on Newark Road when a man on a bike grabbed her bag.

    Another member of the public chased the man down and recovered the bag.

    Anyone with any information is being asked to contact the police.

    Humberside Police have reported the school welfare officer who was stabbed in North Lincolnshire is 'doing well' and has undergone a minor operation for her injuries.

    A 16-year-old continues to be questioned by officers on suspicion of attempted murder.

    Parents and teachers will meet with the police later today to discuss safety concerns at Winterton Community Academy.

    Humberside Police say their community support officers will remain at a North Lincolnshire school for the rest of the week - where a member of staff was stabbed by a pupil yesterday.

    A 61 year-old school welfare officer is in hospital and has undergone a small operation, but is said to be doing well.

    Officers are continuing to question a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of attempted murder.

    Lincolnshire Police's public logo has had a a bit of a rebrand - but it doesn't seem to be too popular.

    The rebrand's initial cost is in the hundreds of pounds, the chief constable Bill Skelly said.

    The University of Lincoln has opened a sleep lab for new mums and their babies.

    A room at the university has been turned into a bedroom and a team will be monitoring sleep patterns and habits.

    This is the new image Lincolnshire Police will use on their vehicles, stationary and notices.

    Over the next few months the new logo will appear on notices at police stations, on police cars, the force's website and correspondence.

    Chief Constable Bill Skelly said it would be a gradual introduction and take six months to change the badges on the police cars which would be done as they are brought in for service or refurbishment.

    Mr Skelly also said that notices at the police stations will be changed as they are produced.

    The helmet and cap badges and the badge on the force's flag will remain as below:

    The Chief Constable, Bill Skelly, says the fresh design is needed "for a forward-looking force".

    He says the initial cost is just in the hundreds of pounds as the design work was produced in-house by their Graphics and Publication Department.

    Thieves stole a number of items - including a television, cash and tea bags - from the Village Church Farm Museum over the weekend.

    A mother and son have been sent to jail today for fleecing mainly elderly people out of thousands of pounds for servicing their vacuum cleaners.

    Thomas Scoffin, 31 from Park Avenue in Leeds was the sole director of Leeds-based Excel Servicing was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

    His mother Linda Scoffin, 61 from Hall Drive in Lincoln who helped him run the business, was sentenced to three years.

    The pair had falsely claimed to represent the Dyson firm and then convinced people that their vacuum needed servicing, in some cases damaging a perfectly functioning model.

    Customers were often charged between £50 and £200 to service the cleaners, and charged £40 for a new filter which were only worth between £2 and £5.
