    Customers who lost money after one of Grimsby's oldest firms went out of business will find out today whether they might get their money back.

    Pettit's butchers had been in the town for 125 years and today a creditors' meeting will discuss what happens next.

  3. Former Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire Tony Worth has diedpublished at 10:23 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2017

    The former Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire has died at the age of 77 after a brief battle with cancer.

    Tony Worth came from Lincolnshire farming stock - and spent his life representing the county.

    He served as High Sheriff of Lincolnshire and became Deputy Lieutenant for Lincolnshire before becoming vice Lord-lieutenant.

    He was also president of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society and the patron of the Society for Lincolnshire History and Archaeology.

    Here he is welcoming the Duchess of Cambridge to Grimsby in 2013.

    He was a major figure in the creating of the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial.

    Hundreds of children from seven Lincolnshire schools will take part in an act of remembrance later at the International Bomber Command Centre.

    They'll place poppies at the walls bearing the names of the men killed during the Second World War.

    Ambitious proposals have been revealed to create a cultural quarter in Grantham focused on St Wulfram's Church.

    Church leaders unveiled the £8m plans called Sacred Space, Common Ground at a reception in the town.

    They include a heritage skills workshop, a community hall and education centre.

    If funding can be secured, it's hoped the project will be completed within three years.

    A woman in her 60s is being treated for a broken wrist and facial injuries after an attempted robbery in Gainsborough.

    It happened on Tennyson Street at around 21:50 on Wednesday.

    The attacker attempted to snatch the woman's bag.

    The suspect was described as 15 or 16-years-old, white, no facial hair, about 5ft 6ins in height and of average build.

    He was wearing a grey hooded top and darker tracksuit bottoms.
