  1. Weather Watchers: Autumnal parkpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2017

    BBC Weather Watchers

For many people autumn is the best time of year or at least the most beautiful.

Yes, it can be a bit cold and wet but when the weather plays ball you get wonderful, crisp days as the leaves begin to change colour.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better example than this shot from Starman in Bourne:

  3. Dog attack: Union calls for dog to be destroyedpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2017

    Scott Dalton
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

Earlier we told you about Sharon Singer, the postal worker who was attacked by a Doberman back in July.

Now the Communications Workers Union says they're going to challenge the sentencing:

    Quote Message

We were surprised by the unduly lenient sentence, that's an understatement really. In a case that resulted in such life-changing injuries we would have expected a destruction order and the person banned from owning dogs as well"

  4. 800 years of the Charter of the Forestpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2017

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Earlier we told you about a new Charter of the Forest, laying out the future of woodland in the UK.

It's going on display in Lincoln because the city is home to one of two surviving copies of the original historical document.

But why is the original so significant?

Charter of the ForestImage source, Visit Lincoln

Well, it's the companion piece to Magna Carta.

Whereas Magna Carta helped changed the balance of power when it came to the monarchy and the rebel barons, the Charter of the Forest had a much bigger impact for the common people.

It re-established public access to land, external that had slowly been taken away since the time of William the Conqueror.

    Quote Message

Every freeman from henceforth, without danger shall make in his own wood, or on his land, or on his water, which he has within our forest, mills, springs, pools, marlpits, dykes, or earable ground, without enclosing that earable ground, so that it be not to the annoyance of any of his neighbours.
