    Bottles of water are still being given out for free, following the loss of water which affected Telford and surrounding areas yesterday and Sunday.

    Severn Trent says it will keep its collection points in Madeley, Ironbridge and Broseley open until 22:00 and might distribute more water tomorrow.

    The company say all homes should have their supply back by now, but it might come and go as it works to flush water around the system.

    People might also notice the water appearing murky, but the company says this is nothing to worry about.

  6. Red Arrows pilot tribute: Students learn at RAF museumpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    The RAF museum at Cosford has opened up its workshop to 15 students from the Charlton School in Wellington today.

    They're the first school children to take advantage of a scheme set up in memory of Red Arrows' pilot, Jon Egging, external, to help young people learn news skills and to build their confidence.

    The students will also be enacting a dinghy rescue, building a glider, trying out coding and being taught about cyber threats and e-safety.

    Flt Lt Egging lost his life in 2011 while flying in a display team at the Bournemouth Air Festival.

  7. Bid to build tin can statue of Queenpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

    The British Ironworks Centre near Oswestry has launched a bid to collect a million tin cans, to build a 30ft (9m) tall bust of the Queen.

    It's the latest project from the team that's produced artworks like the Knife Angel and the Spoon Gorilla.

    The aim behind the sculpture is to encourage recycling and highlight what can be created from everyday household waste.

    Severn Trent has thanked customers for their patience while workmen fixed a massive hole in an underground water pipe.

    Shrewsbury's Kevin Drake has won gold at the Invictus Games in Canada, with his tennis partner Alex Krol.

    The pair beat Glen Barnes and Aaron Gibbs of New Zealand 6-4 in the final in Toronto.

    Kevin, who lost his left leg while serving in Afghanistan, said before he left the UK that he wanted the chance to go and represent his country and be part of something again.

    The only unbeaten side in the EFL are back in action tonight as Shrewsbury Town look to extend their lead at the top of League One by winning at Doncaster.

    The Town drew 1-1 with Blackburn on Saturday, only the second time they've dropped any points this season and sit three points clear of the rest.

    Doncaster registered only their second league win of the season at Plymouth at the weekend.

    The first steps in building an ancient-style burial mound are taking place today.

    Three large limestone monoliths are being put up at Soulton Hall, near Wem, for which planning permission was granted last month.

    The mound will contain alcoves in which people can place the ashes of loved ones.

    The University Centre in Shrewsbury is welcoming another group of new students this week.

    The intake of freshers brings the total number of undergraduates there to more than 200, with another 100 or so post-graduates.

    Many of the students who began degrees in Shrewsbury when the centre opened in 2015 are now entering their final year of study.

    Hundreds of households in Telford have finally had their water supply restored, 48 hours after it was cut off.

    A pipe near the town burst on Sunday morning, leaving 20,000 properties without water.

    Severn Trent says all homes are now reconnected, although supply might be intermittent and water murky at first.

    Bottled water is still available to collect from Tesco in Madeley, the Museum of the Gorge car park in Ironbridge and Birchmeadow Park in Broseley.
