Chelsea have won the Women's Super League for the sixth year in a row.

The Blues only needed one point from their match against Manchester United to win the league, but they left with a 1-0 victory.

It's the first WSL title for Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor, who took over from Emma Hayes last summer.

It's also the second trophy that Chelsea have won this season, after they lifted the League Cup last month.

Second-placed Arsenal started the day six points behind Chelsea with three games to play - meaning they needed a win against Aston Villa to keep alive any hopes of overtaking the Blues at the top of the table.

However, the Gunners lost 5-2 to Villa earlier in the evening, leaving Chelsea only needing a draw against Manchester United to lift the trophy.

Lucy Bronze 74th minute goal saw the Blues beat United 1-0, to wrap up their sixth Women's Super League title in a row.

The win also keeps Chelsea on course for an unbeaten WSL season and there could be more good news for the Blues.

After securing the League Cup and WSL trophy, they could still win the Treble this season - which happens when a team picks up three major trophies in a single season.

Chelsea face Manchester United again in the Women's FA Cup final later this month.
