  1. First Sunday in the books...published at 01:05 British Summer Time

Wow, what a start to our NFL Sunday live coverage! I'm not sure we can cope with another 17 weeks of this...

Aaron Rodgers won his Pittsburgh Steelers debut with four touchdowns showing the New York Jets, who pretty much dumped him over the summer, that he can still play.

He had the Steelers defence to thank for a dramatic late win though.

Micah Parsons also had a winning debut as the Green Bay Packers dominated the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field, impressing on both sides of the ball with Jordan Love also looking sharp.

We had some dramatic, wild finishes, with the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Cleveland Browns by a point and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the Atlanta Falcons thanks to a last-gasp missed field goal.

The Washington Commanders and Indianapolis Colts impressed, the San Francisco 49ers edged out the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams defence shut down the Houston Texans.

You can get the latest score from Baltimore Ravens v Buffalo Bills here, and full results are below, while you should keep an eye on the website for our Monday morning round-up for our pick of the plays, games and storylines from week one in the NFL.

Fancy more of the same next week? Of course you do, so join us next Sunday for another action packed Sunday on the gridiron.

Aaron Rodgers enjoyed a dream debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers, against the team that told him in February they wanted to go "in a different direction".

The veteran quarterback was asked if there was extra significance to beating a New York Jets team led by new head coach Aaron Glenn, the man who told him he 'wasn't right for this team'.

"Yes, that's what he did," said Rodgers. "I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets."

For context, it seemed Rodgers meant he was merely happy to get the win, rather than it being any sort of 'revenge mission'.

  4. Full-time - Broncos seal itpublished at 00:38 British Summer Time 8 September

    Tennessee Titans 12-20 Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have been mentioned as a potential dark horse this season and they take advantage of a rough NFL debut for Cam Ward to get off to a winning start.

  5. Turnover - Broncos force Ward fumblepublished at 00:34 British Summer Time 8 September

    Tennessee Titans 12-20 Denver Broncos

Denver eat up more than three minutes before having to hand the ball over deep in Tennessee territory.

The Titans only have 64 seconds to work with so it would take something special from Cam Ward but it's another miserable drive for the rookie quarterback.

There's three more incompletions before he's tackled as he attempts to throw and the loose ball's gathered by the Denver defence so goes down as a fumble recovery.

The first overall draft pick definitely has much to learn from his NFL debut.

  6. Full-time - Rams secure winning startpublished at 00:27 British Summer Time 8 September

Houston Texans 9-14 Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are one of the NFL teams thought to be in a Super Bowl window and they see out a win over Houston, with Puka Nacua finishing with 130 yards from 10 catches, despite needing stitches to an injury during the game.

  7. Impressive start for Packerspublished at 00:23 British Summer Time 8 September

Detroit Lions 13-25 Green Bay Packers

    Jared GoffImage source, Getty Images

A pretty dominant display from Green Bay in their season opener, thanks to a fast start on offence and some swarming defence that never gave Jared Goff an inch.

Micah Parsons caused problems but it was a collective effort from a young, hungry looking Packers outfit to stifle Detroit, the top scorers last season, at every opportunity.

Goff was intercepted once and sacked four times while throwing just one touchdown, while Jordan Love threw two and Josh Jacobs ran in a third as Matt LaFleur's side put down a marker that they mean business this season.

  8. Postpublished at 00:22 British Summer Time 8 September

    Tennessee Titans 12-20 Denver Broncos

After JK Dobbins' touchdown for Denver, Tennessee go three-and-out before the Broncos have to hand it over on downs.

The Titans have about five minutes left so salvage something, but again they go three-and-out after two incompletions from rookie quarterback Cam Ward.

  9. Turnover - Texans fumblepublished at 00:19 British Summer Time 8 September

Houston Texans 9-14 Los Angeles Rams

CJ Stroud leads the Texans up to the Rams' 25-yard line with just under two minutes remaining, but linebacker Nate Landman pulls off a great play by punching the ball out of Dare Ogunbowale's grasp and the Rams recover it.

That should seal it for Los Angeles.

  10. touchdown

Touchdown - Lionspublished at 00:13 British Summer Time 8 September

Detroit Lions 13-25 Green Bay Packers

We've saved the best for last here with a phenomenal one-handed grab by rookie Isaac TeSlaa in the corner of the end zone gives the Detroit Lions something to shout about late on.

Under a minute left so won't change the game, but that really is an amazing catch, Odell Beckham Jr would be proud of that one.

  11. Niners win in Seattlepublished at 00:09 British Summer Time 8 September

San Francisco 49ers 17-13 Seattle Seahawks

San Francisco 49ersImage source, Getty Images

Full time in Seattle and the San Francisco 49ers come away with the victory in their opener, and a really good way to ease into the season for Brock Purdy who showed great composure to go and win it for his side late on.

George Kittle's injury will be a worry, but other than that a really solid start.

  12. Postpublished at 00:08 British Summer Time 8 September

Houston Texans 9-14 Los Angeles Rams

The Rams' drive again comes to nothing as tight end Colby Parkinson fumbles and Houston recover it deep in their own territory.

The Texans have just over four minutes remaining to try to engineer a game-winning drive.

  13. touchdown

Touchdown - Broncospublished at 00:05 British Summer Time 8 September

    Tennessee Titans 12-20 Denver Broncos

After the Titans spurn that golden opportunity, Denver make them pay as RJ Harvey rips off a 50-yard run before JK Dobbins gets in from 19 yards to give the Broncos breathing space.

  14. touchdown

Touchdown - 49erspublished at 00:03 British Summer Time 8 September

San Francisco 49ers 17-13 Seattle Seahawks

A late dagger from the 49ers who score the touchdown through Jake Tonges to take the lead with just 94 seconds left on the clock.

Tonges is in at tight end with Georgie Kittle injured, and showed Kittle-like sharpness in the end zone to nab the Brock Purdy throw ahead of the cornerback.

  15. Stafford passes 60,000 yardspublished at 00:02 British Summer Time 8 September

Houston Texans 9-14 Los Angeles Rams

The Rams had to punt but soon got the ball back and Matt Stafford makes a completion to Puka Nacua to become the 10th NFL player to reach 60,000 passing yards.

Nacua then makes a big play to pass 100 yards for the game, in which he spent time off the field to get stitches in an eye injury.

  16. First sack for Parsonspublished at 23:58 British Summer Time 7 September

Detroit Lions 6-27 Green Bay Packers

    Micah ParsonsImage source, Getty Images

A huge roar goes up around Lambeau as Micah Parsons shows why they paid such a high price for him as he bursts through the protection and then gallops after Jared Goff out wide before bringing down the Detroit quarterback.

The first of many no doubt...

  17. field goal

Field goal - Packerspublished at 23:57 British Summer Time 7 September

Detroit Lions 6-27 Green Bay Packers

Four plays for zero yards sees Detroit turn the ball over on downs as the fourth down conversion fails - and Green Bay just take it easy in great position by gaining just seven yards befpre Brandon McManus boots another field goal.

This has been some performance defensively from Green Bay as we get down to around four minutes left in the game having shackled what was the most prolific attack in the league last season.

  18. Ward suffers back-to-back sackspublished at 23:53 British Summer Time 7 September

    Tennessee Titans 12-13 Denver Broncos

Cam Ward has looked every inch a rookie on his NFL debut, with the first overall draft pick sacked for a huge loss for the second time today.

He's then sacked again on the next play, forcing the Titans out of field-goal range and they have to punt.

  19. Stafford closing on passing milestonepublished at 23:51 British Summer Time 7 September

Houston Texans 9-14 Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams added veteran receiver Davante Adams after letting Cooper Kupp leave in the off-season.

Adams has just made his third catch of the day - and his longest at 24 yards - to help quarterback Matt Stafford edge towards 60,000 career passing yards.

The veteran duo could connect for many more yards this season.

  20. Postpublished at 23:45 British Summer Time 7 September

    Tennessee Titans 12-13 Denver Broncos

Denver have edged back in front with a field goal but just handed Tennessee a great opportunity after Marvin Mims muffed a punt, giving the Titans the ball on the Broncos' 24-yard line.
