You've got to take a shot, you've got to take it.

It's up to the referees to interpret what they see but that's something in special teams that we're taught to do.

Sam Darnold takes off on the scramble with no targets open down field, and he's got enough in the legs to make it to the first down marker and keeps the chains moving.

The ball is fumbled off the punt and the Jets think they have it, but a Vikings player was blocked into the intended returner Brandon Powell, who had signalled a fair catch, so the turnover is reversed and Minnesota keep the ball.

That's a bit of a fright though and reminder how crucial special teams can be.

Aaron Rodgers for a big one to star receiver Garrett Wilson, he's pretty open but has to twist with the ball aimed over his back shoulder, and just fails to gather it in.

A short pass and a short run and already Rodgers is facing third down again - six yards to go.

Pretty solid first drive from the Vikings, 11 plays for 52 yards and a decent mix of run and pass but that Jets defence just came up big with the stop on third down.

Kicking is not too easy today so anything over 50 yards is a pretty good effort. Let's see what Aaron Rodgers has got for us now.

Got to say the Vikings fans in London are killing it with their outfits today.

New York Jets 0-3 Minnesota Vikings

It's a long kick in these conditions, but Will Reichard makes no mistake as the ball just carries over the crossbar for a 54-yard field goal.

Sam Darnold goes on the run trying to buy some time on third down, but he's sacked by Will McDonald for a loss of 12 yards and the Vikings will have to kick a field goal.

Justin Jefferson again with the catch and he just about gets the first down - it looked a tight one but Minnesota smartly got the next play off quickly so no time for the Jets to challenge the spot.

Justin Jefferson fumbles the ball on the first play, but luckily it bobbles out of bounds. Maybe a bit of trademark London drizzle on the ball.

A throw out of bounds followed by a completion to Garrett Wilson but the Jets are one yard short of a first down and Robert Saleh is in no mood to risk gong for it on the first drive.

So it's a three-and-out for New York. Sam Darnold comes on to answer.

Aaron Rodgers looks set to join some elite company today, as he's just 96 yards short of reaching 60,000 passing yards in the NFL - something which only eight players before him have managed.

And the names show you exactly what an achievement it is, as Rodgers would join Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan and Dan Marino in reaching the landmark.

What's not great news for those wanting a shootout is that both of these sides have been playing superb defensively this season.

They are fourth and fifth in points allowed in this campaign but they do excel in different areas - as the Jets have the second-best pass defence, the Vikings have the second-best rushing defence.

So it's clear where the strengths are - can the respective offences find the gaps?

Aaron Rodgers is 40 and just coming off Achilles surgery, yet the Jets let Denver beat him up last week, as he suffered five sacks and 14 hits from the Broncos defence.

He showed up on the injury report with a bad knee, but insists he's fit and healthy, but he must be stiff and sore after that, it's not the warmest day here in London and he's had a long flight over from the USA.

The Jets need to protect Rodgers at all costs today.
