Wembley's first American football match was the US Air Forces in Europe final between the Burtonwood Bullets and the Fürstenfeldbruck Eagles in December 1952, attended by more than 30,000 people.

The British press didn't know what to make of it at the time, with this great quote from the Sunday Graphic, as reported by US Sport in History, external.

"At some secret signal, utterly ignoring the ball, the 22 leaped at each other’s throats. A whistle blew and the debris was removed…Stretcher bearers kept carting off the bodies and the score apparently depended on a coroner’s report – Then the final whistle blew and we gave three hearty cheers to the ambulance which had won a fine game."

New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings (14:30 BST)

It's a cold and overcast day in north London as the two teams run out for their warm-ups at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Vikings are the designated home team and certainly seem to have the most fans inside right now, with Sam Darnold and Justin Jefferson getting a rousing reception as they came out.

Jets players got a bit of stick as they came out, but still plenty of fans supporting them too. This should be a great atmosphere today.

Hello NFL fans and welcome to the first of three games to be held in London this year - as the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings face the Aaron Rodgers-powered New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Jets lost an ugly one 10-9 against the Denver Broncos last week, while the Vikings won a thriller in Green Bay, so there will be contrasting emotions in the camps making the long trip across the Atlantic.

At 4-0, Minnesota have been playing the best football in the league, and beating the likes of the Packers, 49ers and Texans shows they're the real deal.

Rodgers still has not convinced, but can the iconic 40-year-old turn it on in London today? Stay with us to find out. Let's go!
