Sliced in the air by Harry Brook!

He has taken a big risk again by charging Mohammed Siraj and aiming towards the pavilion. The ball lands over a fielder's head at extra cover.

Great start from England but these two need to bat the day out, great weather tomorrow for them to race ahead and kill any chance India have left. Breaks needed on Bazball!

Root clips ball towards deep backward sqaure leg for four to bring up 150 for England

Joe Root throws a counterpunch back to India by flicking the final ball of Akash Deep's over to the boundary. Dhruv Jurel is standing up the stumps, trying to keep Root in his ground and play on his mind but that's a gimme for England's greatest.

The average speed of pace bowling today has been 85.8 mph - the fastest of any day in the series so far.

  5. Eng 148-3published at 27 overs

    Root 10, Brook 4

Mohammed Siraj's feet must hurt with every step given the amount he has bowled this summer but he is running in hard yet again. It's testing stuff with Joe Root only able to get one away via an inside edge to end the over.

Prasidh Krishna's spell is done. Shubman Gill turns back to Akash Deep.

England need to remember India only have three seamers. Prasidh Krishna is into a long spell and he can't go on forever.

  7. Eng 147-3published at 26 overs

    Root 9, Brook 4

Nothing from Brook to these two deliveries, although I think he thought about chasing a wide one at the end of the over. The Yorkshireman is signalling for someone to come and take his jumper. Everyone is hot under the collar.

I'm sorry, that's a shocking shot from Harry Brook. It's your second ball and I know Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett were expansive but they weren't from their second ball.

Remarkable shot. He's got away with it. If that goes back on the stumps then England are in a pickle.

  9. Eng 147-3published at 25.4 overs

India have pushed a fielder back to Joe Root so his wisely knocks the ball out there for one.

Will Harry Brook charge the bowling again?

Presumably Krishna mentioned Sheffield United’s record in the play-offs? Poor form on Yorkshire day so no wonder Rooty was fuming!

Harry Brook charges his second ball and gets an inside edge an inch past leg stump.

    It's all happening.

Get ready. I think Harry Brook might play a few shots which could be entertaining but it could be his downfall.

How's he not given that out? It feels the same as that first wicket yesterday of Yashasvi Jaiswal.

India are sneaking themselves back into this Test match.

Gone! It's three reds with the replays showing the ball would have clattered into middle and leg.

It's a wicked delivery from Mohammed Siraj that has cut back a long way to beat Pope's inside.

    India are up for this.

With that sort of appeal from Mohammed Siraj surely they're going to review it.

Mohammed Siraj pleads for lbw against Ollie Pope! His appeal goes on and on and on.

I thought this moved too much and is missing leg.
