England's session has completely blown this game up. They ripped into the Indian batting line-up and then they've come out with the bat and it's been edge of your seat stuff. Brilliant.

Here's Matt Henry to take you through the interval and the afternoon session.

    Crawley 52, Pope 12

And that's lunch. What a wild session.

India's final four wickets were skittled inside 30 minutes, with Gus Atkinson finishing with 5-33, before Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett let rip with the bat.

England are 109-1 in reply to India's 224.

The constant speculation around Zak Crawley's position in this team needs to stop. He sets the tone at the top of the order and there’s no one else like him. He is Bazball!

Crawley has always been the answer. Go big today please Zak!!

Do they know that The Hundred's on Tuesday? The England batters are really looking to put that knockout blow on India. They're going after every delivery.

  10. Eng 97-1published at 14 overs

Ollie Pope has his first boundary, driving Prasidh Krishna for four.

Overall, it's a better over from Krishna, getting a bit of bounce and tempting Pope to go after one which shapes away, but the scoreboard keeps ticking along. India haven't bowled a maiden yet.

A partnership of 92 in 12.5 overs for Crawley and Duckett.

They were on course for the fastest century opening stand in the history of Test cricket, which is 13.2 overs, but five scoreless balls before that wicket removed that chance.

No, no, no. For all the talk from India of England playing “against the spirit” and Deep does that? He’s lucky Duckett kept his composure as well as he did. He’s out, enjoy the moment with your teammates, not that.

That's an abysmal send-off from Deep. Get back in your box.

One reverse too many. That was the reverse scoop again. He's managed to get a feather of an edge and it's gone through to the keeper.

Akash Deep roars, pumps his fists, and puts his arm around Duckett. He's dragged away by KL Rahul. Who knows.

We're into the final 15 minutes before lunch.

What a start from Duckett and Crawley, it’s so exciting to watch. Who said Test Cricket is boring? Have a slice of humble pie.

They've just gobbled up that lead. Shubman Gill's been left scratching his head.

  18. Eng 92-0published at 12 overs

Two singles off the first four balls. But the fifth is too short and rattled away for four by Ben Duckett. And it's a no ball.

Shubman Gill is wearing a pained expression. The fielders are frowning. India cannot wait for lunch.

This is why they're so good together Duckett and Crawley. One slightly shorter and left-handed and one taller and right-handed. As a bowler you're in a bit of a muddle with your line and length.

You've almost got to block out who's batting and focus on your own line and length.

Don’t want to jinx it, but when Crawley and Duckett get going like this it’s a sight to behold. I know there’s been questions around Crawley, but when he goes at this pace you can see why he’s a guaranteed pick.
