Not sure if I should be delighted or terrified by how quickly we wrapped up that India innings.... Credit to the bowlers but this is going to be a serious test for Crawley and co. especially as India will hope to be more consistent with the ball. Is there a sun dance we can all do at the interval?

The weakness of India's tail has been a massive factor in this series.

Their leading seamers Kamboj, Bumrah, Siraj, Deep and Prasidh have yet to make a double figure score at any point and have totalled 48 runs.

Atkinson is England’s best bowler. Alongside Stokes he will bring the rest of the bowling department up to another level. Even in these bowler friendly condition.

I'll be honest, up until this morning I thought England had a shocking few days. The way they managed their attack through this series left them with a very makeshift team. I was pretty mystified how Jamie Overton had got past Sam Cook and Matthew Potts in the pecking order. Then they bowled awfully, then Woakes got injured. 5.4 overs later, they are one strong batting performance away from winning the series.

Gus Atkinson finishes with figures of 5-33 from 21.4 overs, including eight maidens.

Aside from four no balls yesterday, he was pretty faultless.

Gus Atkinson can do no wrong in an England shirt. Today he's bowled that fuller length and it's far too good for India's number 11.

It's a good morning for England but encouragement for India as there's something in the pitch.

    Five for Gus Atkinson!

Prasidh Krishna's stint in the middle is short-lived. He's out for a duck, caught behind by Jamie Smith.

Atkinson has 5-33 and India are all out for 224. Their innings has been wrapped up inside half an hour on day two.

Gus Atkinson has bowled beautifully and it's amazing that when the pitch has a bit more bounce and pace, the tailenders don't stick around.

    Bowled him!

Gus Atkinson has his fourth wicket. A fuller delivery crashes into Mohammed Siraj's off stump. Bails everywhere.

It feels like the pitch has nipped more this morning than it did yesterday, or are England just bowling more full?

  12. Ind 224-8published at 69 overs

Ohhhhhhh hands on head all round. Joe Root in the slips is statue-esque in disbelief.

Akash Deep is beaten all ends up and the ball flies over the stumps and into the hands of Jamie Smith. Not sure how that missed everything.

The over finishes in typical Josh Tongue fashion with four byes. Poor old Smith. He's being made to throw himself around a lot.

Can’t recall a more erratic and inaccurate bowling performance than Tongue in this innings. But he’s now 3 fer - no descriptions in the record books!

I'm still thinking about that chocolate cricket ball (@11:09) in the TMS commentary box. It would last about 35 seconds in my company.

Sometimes in patisseries in France you can find chocolate petanque balls, which I've always been tempted by.

Gus Atkinson now has 3-33 from 21 overs. Ollie Pope is sticking with Josh Tongue at the other end.

    About that 250...

Washington Sundar pulls the ball straight to Jamie Overton in the deep. Gus Atkinson pumps his fists.

Washington is walking off very slowly. This could be over quite quickly for India.

Yesterday saw an average of 0.74° of seam movement for the pace bowlers, which is by far the most for any day of the series so far.

Graham Gooch once famously said a New Zealand side including the great Richard Hadlee was "World XI at one end, Ilford second XI at the other". Josh Tongue is that in one bowler.

That over sums up the frustrating thing about Josh Tongue.

His first delivery was rank - wildly swinging and evading a diving Jamie Smith to run away for four byes - but then he picks up the big wicket of Karun Nair, breaking the partnership and exposing India's tail.

What's a good total for India here? I still think 250 should be the absolute minimum.

It has nipped back a little bit but there was no foot movement from Karun Nair.

It seemed like he had a massive concentration fade and missed the ball.
