Summary

  1. WI 346-5published at 83 overs

    Trail by 70

Another eye-catching drive from Josh Da Silva as the West Indies move ever closer to England's first-innings total.

The right-hander misses out on a full toss from Ben Stokes to finish the over and England jog through to ensure there will definitely be one more over in the day.

    That's a glorious shot.

  3. WI 341-5published at 82 overs

    Holder 22, Da Silva 24

Late in the day and Jason Holder might finally be getting himself set.

He pounces on a short ball from Gus Atkinson and pulls it in front of square for four.

Still no sign of the second new ball.

An elegant drive from Da Silva, what a shot that was.

  5. WI 335-5published at 81 overs

Wide from Ben Stokes and crashed away through the covers by Josh Da Silva.

That takes West Indies to triple Nelson. For one delivery. A single quickly gets them past it.

Jason Holder clips to leg for another and we've got about 10 minutes left on day two.

  6. WI 329-5published at 80.1 overs

No new ball yet but there is a change of bowling.

Ben Stokes is on for Chris Woakes and nearly gets Josh Da Silva to chop on first ball.

I just seem to be saying miss every time Holder's on strike.

  8. WI 329-5published at 80 overs

Jason Holder has played and missed countless times in this innings, with Gus Atkinson beating him again to start this over.

I say countless, someone will be counting, I'm sure. In fact, Andy Zaltzman promptly informs us that that was Holder's 20th play and miss of the innings.

The second new ball is now available.

  9. WI 327-5published at 79 overs

Josh Da Silva adds four to his and West Indies' total with a late cut before Chris Woakes hits back with a swinging delivery that beats the bat.

The Windies wicketkeeper-batter goes into defensive mode after that and sees out the over.

One more and then the second new ball will be available. Whether England will take it is another matter.

Chris Woakes celebrates his wicket of Kavem HodgeImage source, PA Media

Can’t believe people are questioning Woakes. He’s been amazing in English conditions, consistently outperforming Anderson and Broad. He deserves to stay in the attack and can also bat. West Indies have one good day and a load of rubbish written…

We're into the extra half hour of what has been a good day for the West Indies.

However, if England can get one or two more before stumps, they will still feel they're just ahead in this match.

Gus Atkinson nearly burgles a wicket with the last ball of the over as Jason Holder wafts at a wide delivery that he really need not have played at.

No wicket for Chris Woakes in that over but here is how he removed Kavem Hodge for 120 in his previous set...

  13. WI 321-5published at 77 overs

Jason Holder has not looked comfortable out there but he's still battling.

Chris Woakes twice hits him on the pads in the over, the first is clearly doing too much but the second draws a big appeal.

Again, England decide against a review. It looked leg side-ish and possible a touch high as well.

I sound like a curmudgeon, but England are getting what they deserve for losing six wickets in final session yesterday. They could have been doing the batting and making the Windies toil in the field.

A nice positive start from Da Silva.

Replays show it was the left hamstring that Mark Wood was trying to stretch, so it could just be cramp.

    England will certainly hope so.

In the meantime, Gus Atkinson curls one past Josh Da Silva's outside edge, then finds it a couple of balls later but see it fly wide of the cordon and away for four.

Four more. Shovelled through the leg side by Da Silva this time.

Extreme pace today but he's off the field.

Uh oh. After one ball of the over, Mark Wood starts stretching and, after a discussion with Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes, the fast bowler is heading off.

He seemed keen to continue but Stokes was insistent that he not take any chances.

    Gus Atkinson will take over.

How much better is this than Lord's! Five day Test in the offing, the sun is shining, I’ve got Monday off work. Good times.
