I went to Dominica in April - it’s an amazing island and the locals were super excited to have two Dominicans in the team. Happy for Hodge and gutted for Athanaze!

He's put that away very easily, it's got a West Indian flare to it.

  4. WI 293-4published at 68 overs

Kavem Hodge picks the short ball - not short enough, to be honest - from Ben Stokes and pulls it dismissively to the mid-wicket boundary.

He clips the following delivery along the ground in a similar direction, but Ollie Pope runs round to limit the batters to a two.

He knew the moment it came off his bat, incredible moment.

It's emotional, he's managed to dig deep and continue to play despite everyone having their doubts about the team.

  10. 100 runs

100 for Kavem Hodgepublished at 65.4 overs

A maiden Test century for Kavem Hodge!

He turns Stokes's opening delivery through backward square for four, then reaches three figures three balls later, hammering the England skipper through long-off and to the ropes.

The Dominican, playing just his fourth Test, leaps into Jason Holder's arms - perhaps he should leap into Joe Root's, for it was he who dropped him on 16.

This is incredible bowling really. It's one thing to have the pace but to be able to get your hands on that seam and get the spin is really impressive.

  12. WI 275-4published at 65 overs

Wood produces another snorter - not only is it pacey, but there's a touch of outswing and it keeps low, sliding past Hodge's off stump.

He closes the over with another fine delivery, an outswinger smacking into Smith's distinctive black gloves.

  13. WI 274-4published at 64 overs

Oooof, tight from Stokes, firing the ball past Holder's bat.

Although turns out it was a no ball, perhaps why it hurried the former West Indies skipper.

That is the sort of sight you want to see as a fast bowler, the batter struggling to keep up.

  15. WI 272-4published at 63 overs

Ask and you shall receive, Ebony - here's England's pace tyro.

Hodge powers his second ball through the covers - Ben Duckett tries to cut it off at the boundary, but his dive into the ropes isn't enough to stop the ball going for four. That moves the West Indies number five into the nineties.

Hodge takes a single to bring Holder on strike, and Wood fizzes a ball past his off stump.

I wonder if Wood's is rested enough to charge at the new batter.

    I wouldn't mind seeing a blast.

  17. WI 267-4published at 62 overs

Jason Holder is up and running!

He eases his first ball past the slips for four, and picks up another boundary with a punch over the covers.

There was a massive roar there from Ben Stokes, the frustration of trying to get these two out.

This partnership has built, they were a real threat to England.

  19. wicket

    Athanaze c Brook b Stokes 82 (WI 259-4)

And that's the end of the partnership!

Athanaze chases a wide Stokes delivery, sending a flying edge to Harry Brook at gully.

The Dominican will be absolutely gutted by that, he looked like he was closing on a first Test century.
