I'd love to know what the conversation is out there. You've got a traditionalist at one end and an extraordinary player at the other.

KL Rahul is playing more orthodox Test cricket out there.

I think the pitch has played quicker this morning than it has in the other days. It's going through to the keeper at waist height every time.

This is the best I've seen Chris Woakes. Today he's beaten the outside edge of KL Rahul quite a few times.

For the third time this morning, KL Rahul faces a maiden but this time to Chris Woakes.

Somehow I feel like Rishabh Pant isn't going to play out a scoreless over to Brydon Carse.

You just can't keep your eyes off Rishabh Pant, he's probably thinking to play it with the wind.

When KL Rahul is batting it's a different conversation to when Rishabh Pant is batting, you can relax a little bit.

Big inside edge as he fell over.

Pant survives, he's on 15 from 23 balls.

  9. England reviewpublished at 33 overs

    Well.

Rishabh Pant goes for this game's signature shot of the roly-poly ramp and Carse's ball thumps into his back leg.

Ben Stokes is going to take a look.

Again it was a cross batted hike, top edged it. Rishabh Pant is playing very dangerously.

  11. Ind 112-3published at 32.3 overs

    Lands... safe.

Rishabh Pant goes for another cross-batted shot, top-edges and balloons the ball up over the keeper and towards the boundary.

The ball beats the two chasing fielders and crosses the ropes for four.

This is the best combination of bowlers that I've seen throughout the whole game. They've come out with positivity, you can see it out there.

It's the kind of pitch now where you've just got to hit it at a decent length and it will nip back.

    Sir Alastair Cook

The game is on edge right now. If India lose two wickets, England can run away with it, but if KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant can build up a partnership, then India will have a real chance.

With a bowling average of seven, surely Sir Alastair Cook is up there?

The ball that got Shubman Gill out nipped back a little bit. The ball is bouncing a little bit more and moving just enough, it's better conditions than the first few days where you had no margin of error.

That was a tennis forehand. Rishabh Pant, there's never a shortage of entertainment when he's on the crease. You might see something terrible but you could see something brilliant.

  17. Ind 107-3published at 32 overs

    Smashed.

Rishabh Pant advances down the pitch and cracks Chris Woakes down the ground for four.

The one scoring shot of the over, with Pant elaborately leaving the final ball with a big stride.

India have scored 17 runs from 8.1 overs this morning, with two boundaries - both Pant's.

I am not convinced that the first wicket of the day actually hit the stumps. It appeared to me that the ball hit the ground to the left of the base of off stump rather than the stump itself.

Brydon Carse has hit a good line and length with 50% of his deliveries this morning, his highest rate for any of his spells in this Test match.
