  1. wicket

WICKET Snater c Roderick b van Beek 53published at 17:24 British Summer Time 30 August

    Essex 366-8 v Worcs 266

Logan van Beek breaks the partnership!

Shane Snater helps himself to consecutive fours to reach a half-century but he is gone edging behind with the next ball of the over.

His partnership with Michael Pepper (89*) was worth 134 and has made a massive difference to the scoreline as Essex now lead by 100 runs.

  2. 'Dawson puts Hants in command'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 30 August

    Lancashire 135-6 v Hampshire 389

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire commentator

After an encouraging start, which produced a 90-run partnership between two of Lancashire's most experienced players for the second wicket, the dismissal of Keaton Jennings has resulted in Lancashire's young middle order being exposed.

The result is the home side losing 5-20 either side of tea. It's been an outstanding day for Liam Dawson, taking his 46 not out overnight to an unbeaten century in the morning and then bowling beautifully in the afternoon.

The left-arm spinner, on a pitch that hasn't done much, has been backed up by clever, attacking fields, and he's put his side into a commanding position.

  3. Postpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 30 August

    Somerset 492 v Durham 239-6

It's a measure of how spin has begun to dominate this game that we're 67 overs into the Durham innings and Craig Overton has delivered only three of those.

Overton finally gets a fourth now, conceding a couple of runs as Somerset seek to break this seventh-wicket partnership that's holding them up.

So far Brydon Carse, on 41 and Ben Raine, who's 36 not out, have added 69.

  5. 100 runs

100 partnershippublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 30 August

    Essex 345-7 v Worcs 266

Michael Pepper and Shane Snater continue their fine work and are starting to build the Essex lead into a very healthy one.

It's up to 79 now and Worcestershire are wicketless in about 25 overs now.

    The Pears needs a boost.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Freddie McCannpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 30 August

    Notts 110-1 v Surrey 525

    Freddie McCannImage source, Rex Features

Freddie McCann backs up his 51 on debut last week with another half-century.

That is a good start to his first-class career for the 19-year-old.

He reaches that off 70 balls and he has shown real positive intent in tandem with Haseeb Hameed.

Now can he go past last week's score?

  7. 50 runs

50 for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 30 August

    Warwickshire 420 v Kent 156 & 81-1

It has not been easy to be captain of Kent this summer, but Daniel Bell-Drummond is doing his bit with the bat.

A 58-ball 50 is brought up with a confident slash wide of point for four off Michael Rae.

It's a fifth 50 of the summer to go with two centuries and it's exactly what Kent need in this match situation.

  8. Postpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 30 August

    Yorks 601-6 dec v Middx 97-1

It's all a bit cat and mouse at Headingley - which has been the case for most of the day - as Middlesex dig in following the dismissal of Mark Stoneman.

Dom Bess and Dan Moriarty are rattling through their overs and off-spinner Bess, in particular, is causing problems with a fair amount of flight and turn.

Yorkshire would love to collect another wicket or two in this final hour, but for now Middlesex are trudging along, with Sam Robson on 43 and Max Holden 19.

  9. 100 runs

100 partnershippublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 30 August

    Notts 108-1 v Surrey 525

Successive fours for Haseeb Hameed off Will Jacks and the 100 partnership comes up for this second wicket for Notts.

It is a good response after the early loss of Ben Slater.

  10. wicket

WICKET Balderson c Albert b Turner 7published at 16:58 British Summer Time 30 August

    Lancashire 122-6 v Hampshire 389

John Turner has a second wicket and Lancashire are collapsing in a heap.

George Balderson hits a pleasing four through the covers, but Turner switches to round the wicket and that immediately works.

Balderson attempts a drive to a ball that holds up enough and Toby Albert takes a fine catch in a fourth slip/gully position.

It is now five wickets for 20 runs for Hampshire.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 30 August

Derbyshire are five down for only 82 runs against Sussex as Aneurin Donald goes for 26.

His partnership of 49 with Wayne Madsen, unbeaten on 40, looked to be helping the visitors rebuild after a rocky start which saw them on 5-2 and 24-4.

They need Madsen to stay put for a long time. He's been joined by Anuj Dal.

Scoring has slowed down at Sophia Gardens where Glamorgan are 338-6 against Leicestershire, giving the home side a lead of 87.

Colin Ingram is on 169 not out - one run away from his season-best score.

  12. 50 partnership for Carse and Rainepublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 30 August

    Somerset 492 v Durham 223-6

Somerset suddenly remember that they have a trio of seamers in their line-up and hand the ball to one of those, Kasey Aldridge.

He replaces Lewis Goldsworthy following an expensive over in which Ben Raine opted to use his feet and hammered the left-armer into the stand twice.

Raine has 26 so far, with Brydon Carse on 35 after guiding an Aldridge full toss to the cover fence.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Haseeb Hameedpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 30 August

    Notts 99-1 v Surrey 525

A fine response from Haseeb Hameed as a single off Will Jacks gives him a 74-ball half-century with seven fours.

A second of the season to go with two hundreds for the Notts captain as he leads the reply to that huge Surrey score.

  14. 50 partnershippublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 30 August

    Warwickshire 420 v Kent 156 & 58-1

A glance down leg for four off Harry Finch and that is the 50 partnership between him and captain Daniel Bell-Drummond.

    Finch has 14 and Bell-Drummond has 32.

The deficit is down to 206.

  15. 300 runs

300 up for Essexpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 30 August

    Essex 302-7 v Worcs 266

Michael Pepper and Shane Snater running between the wicketsImage source, Rex Features

Four leg byes takes Essex over the threshold of 300 runs and gives their lead a more hearty look as it stretches out to 36.

Michael Pepper's partnership with Shane Snater of 75 has been invaluable for the hosts.

  16. wicket

WICKET Bohannon c Prest b Turner 43published at 16:45 British Summer Time 30 August

    Lancashire 114-5 v Hampshire 389

    Make that BIG trouble.

Josh Bohannon, the set batter, perishes as he is undone by some smart captaincy from James Vince.

The Hampshire skipper has two men in a short midwicket and Bohannon picks out one of them with John Turner angling the ball into him.

From 102-1, the Red Rose have sunk to 114-5.

  17. wicket

WICKET Hurst c Middleton b Dawson 4published at 16:41 British Summer Time 30 August

    Lancashire 114-4 v Hampshire 389

    It only takes one mistake...

Matty Hurst is undone by Liam Dawson, as he knocks the ball onto his pad and it loops up for the easiest catch for silly point.

Dawson has 3-17 and Lancashire are sliding into trouble.

  18. Hurst off the markpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 30 August

    Lancashire 113-3 v Hampshire 389

Matty Hurst is scoreless for 16 balls but when John Turner goes too short, Hurst guides one down to the vacant third man for four welcome runs.

A lesson for Rocky Flintoff about waiting for the right ball to get going. It only takes one mistake and you're back in the dressing room.

  19. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 30 August

    Notts 80-1 v Surrey 525

It is hard to be too picky when you have a score of 525 in the bag, but Surrey's bowling has not been at its best.

Haseeb Hameed squirts one down to backward point from the last ball of Dan Worrall's latest over for three.

Notts are going along at nearly 4.5 runs per over which is important when trying to eat into a huge deficit.
