It was bowled really nicely by Maharaj. He beat Livingstone in flight and lack of pace.

This is a good batting pitch but England are just not in the mood to be competitive.

    Oh dear. A horrible shot.

Livingstone is stumped in the most horrible of circumstances.

Livingstone st Klaasen b Maharaj 9 (Eng 114-6)

It just goes from bad to worse.

Liam Livingstone goes after a fuller delivery from Keshav Maharaj but makes a mess of it. He completely misses the ball and is stranded down the track on one knee as Heinrich Klaasen whips off the bails.

A complete brain fade from Livingstone.

Liam Livingstone's first boundary of the day!

He capitalises on the rapid outfield and picks up four down at fine leg.

  6. Eng 110-5published at 20 overs

Liam Livingstone narrowly avoids dragging the ball onto his stumps at the end of a quiet Wiaan Mulder over.

    England were 62-3 after 10 overs. They're 110-5 after 20.

It's not England's defensive technique that needs questioning, but their attacking execution. In the last three years, England lose a wicket every 62 defensive shots, the third best in the world - but they lose a wicket every 23 attacking shots, the worst in the world.

England have never failed to win a match at an ICC event which has included a group stage.

They did not win a match in the ICC Knockout in 1998 but that was, as the name suggests, a one-off knockout match.

  9. Eng 108-5published at 19 overs

Another Keshav Maharaj over flashes by in the blink of an eye. He'll be improving South Africa's over rate.

    Four from it.

  10. Eng 104-5published at 18 overs

This really has been an appalling morning from an England perspective.

Liam Livingstone has joined Jos Buttler in the middle.

What a great sight for Mulder. The stumps have been destroyed. Root tried to work the full ball and he missed it. Simple as that.

He had his top score in the tournament so far and he will be disappointed to get out like that.

Bowled him! Root tried to shovel a full, straight ball and you heard the clatter of the stumps cleanly.

It looks like it's going to be a short game.

    Root b Mulder 37 (Eng 103-5)

A collective sigh around the office.

Wiaan Mulder goes straight through Joe Root and topples his off-stump.

South Africa have five. England are in tatters.

It went up a long way. Jansen had to run 25 or 30 yards towards deep mid-wicket. When you're sprinting and the ball is moving it's almost impossible but he's done so well.

It has been a superb morning for Jansen!

An excellent running catch, that was in the air for ages! He was running flat out and every single South Africa player has come to congratulate him for taking that.

    Brook c Jansen b Maharaj 19 (Eng 99-4)

A wonderful catch from Marco Jansen to send Harry Brook on his way!

Brook sends the ball high into the sky and Jansen charges round from long-on to take a sliding catch at deep mid-wicket. It's an excellent grab.

Hugs all round for South Africa.
