    Cheers, Mike.

Another good session for England, chipping away at the wickets column with Sri Lanka 15 runs behind.

They're effectively five down, too, because of this nasty injury to Dinesh Chandimal, who has gone for a scan.

97 runs from a session of 27 overs, for the loss of two wickets plus Dinesh Chandimal, who retired hurt after being struck on the hand by Mark Wood.

Sri Lanka still trail by 15, with England most definitely in control of the match.

Right, I'm off for a tea time meander. Here's Ffion Wynne.

Mathews seems to have got into his zone fighting his way through. There's not a lot on offer from the pitch. England are bowling good length and lines.

  4. Tea - SL 107-4published at 30 overs

    Sri Lanka trail by 15

Is... is that tea? No-one seems to have remembered what the revised playing conditions are. Ultimately, even if it isn't time, the players seem to have decided they fancy a brew and are wandering off.

A rather expensive over in the context of session, as Matthews takes three through point and Mendis picks up consecutive twos.

Bashir is trying to bowl it into the pitch to see if he can get anything out of it. He uses all his height to deliver the ball.

  6. SL 100-4published at 29 overs

Hey, there's the hundred as Mathews knocks Bashir to long-on.

I might spend tea working out how many overs in this session have featured just one Mathews single.

(I won't spend my tea doing that)

The De Silva wicket ball was the second shortest delivery projected to hit the stumps this Test match, the shortest being the Wood wicket ball in the previous innings. Clear signs of inconsistent bounce on show.

  8. SL 99-4published at 28 overs

Sri Lanka still haven't passed the hundred mark.

Angelo Mathews takes a single for Matty Potts for the sole run of the over.

    They still trail by 23.

  9. SL 98-4published at 27 overs

Mendis gets off the mark, guiding Bashir to third for two.

Incidentally, Angelo Mathew's six is the only boundary in the last eighteen overs.

The wind has been consistent right through. It's been a lot stronger than the previous two days.

  11. SL 95-4published at 26 overs

Time for Kamindu Mendis - he scored 12 in the first innings before being caught behind off Chris Woakes.

He leaves his first two deliveries, defends the third.

De Silva has looked the best of the Sri Lankan batters. This is a big blow for them.

He's nowhere near hitting it. That's a poor dismissal really.

    Very out indeed.

The Sri Lanka captain swipes cross-batted at a ball that keeps low and is struck bang in front.

There really wasn't much point in reviewing that, all reds on the ball tracker.

A first wicket in the match for Matthew Potts.

  15. Umpire reviewpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 23 August

Ah, has Matty Potts added a bit of spark?

He whacks Dhananjaya de Silva on the pads, umpire's finger goes up.

It's reviewed, but this looks very out.

Nick, York: For Ruan. It was the same day England beat Colombia on penalties in the 2018 World Cup. A mass pile-on happened. I was at the bottom.

Bit of a holding pattern at the moment.

England are chasing everything down 100%. We didn't necessarily see that from Sri Lanka.

Tim, Swansea: I got driven to hospital in someone’s van once playing for Swindon Midweeks. I broke my finger going for a catch. It was the first day after my last O-Level exam and I missed the next four weeks of cricket!

Potts continues, he sends down a bouncer that's rather too short and gets called for a wide.
