  1. NZ 108-8published at 18 overs

    Need 42 from 12 balls

    Oh!

The hat-trick ball is on the stumps but Trent Boult is able to slice down to third.

New Zealand opt against taking the single.

It looks like the West Indies have booked their place in the Super 8s.

    Southee c & b Joseph 0 (NZ 108-8)

Alzarri Joseph is on a hat-trick.

Tim Southee tries to ramp/flick his first ball over short fine leg, but doesn't make a clean connection.

It lobs straight up and Joseph is able to make up the ground to take the catch.

He's got four wickets now. One ball to complete his five-wicket haul and take a hat-trick.

Pretty punchy delivery from Alzarri Joseph after being dispatched the previous two deliveries in a row.

He got the ball high up on the bat and it presented a pretty simple catch for the West Indies skipper.

That should be the game for the West Indies now.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.4 overs

    Phillips c Russell b Joseph 40 (NZ 108-7)

Ah. Is this now the game?

Alzarri Joseph goes even shorter and Glenn Phillips can't get on top of the bounce.

It hits the splice of the bat and goes straight up in the air and Andre Russell is able to settle under it.

The crowd breath a sigh of relief.

  7. NZ 108-6published at 17.3 overs

    Need 42 from 15 balls

Glenn Phillips is on the attack.

Back-to-back boundaries pulled into the square-leg fence.

He needs more though, with the required run-rate at 16.80.

The longer you spend batting on a pitch like this, the easier it becomes.

We saw it with Sherfane Rutherford earlier and we're starting to see it with Glenn Phillips.

He may well fancy this. It is not over just yet.

If you're just joining us, West Indies were 30-5 and 76-7 in their innings.

Kane Williamson attacked with his frontline bowlers, trying to finish the innings off, but was unable to.

That left Daryl Mitchell bowling his first set in the 19th over before Mitchell Santner bowled the final over.

Those two overs cost 37 runs. Is that going to cost New Zealand the game?

  10. NZ 100-6published at 17 overs

    Need 50 from 18 balls

A poor throw allows Glenn Phillips to get back on strike for the final ball of the over.

    Can he find the boundary?

He might have if it wasn't for a strong Andre Russell hand in his follow-through taking all the sting out of the shot.

Glenn Phillips didn't get a lot of room to play with but he stood up tall and it is almost a baseball hit. Strong forearms.

  12. 6 runs

    NZ 97-6published at 16.3 overs

    Need 53 off 21 balls

    They can't, can they?

Glenn Phillips follows a first-ball four with a thumping slap over long-on for six.

    Can he keep going?

New Zealand will look back on that last over where Rutherford got those boundaries and wonder whether that was where the game was won and lost.

  14. NZ 87-6published at 16 overs

    Need 63 from 24 balls

The wicket and two runs from the over.

This has slipped away from New Zealand. They'll be on the verge of exiting the competition after two games.

You got a sense that Jimmy Neesham was getting a bit fed up with this pitch.

Everything he tried had not worked. He skied this one and it is getting increasingly hard to see New Zealand getting anything out of this game.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15.1 overs

    Neesham c King b Joseph 10 (NZ 85-6)

    Is this the game?

The pressure tells on Jimmy Neesham, who had scored 10 runs from his first 10 balls.

He tries the big shot but it goes straight up in the air and Brandon King is able to settle under it at mid-on.

65 needed off 30 balls for New Zealand. If they do it, it will be absolutely spectacular.

But as it stands, West Indies have this game in their hands.

Brilliant stuff from Andre Russell, just four singles off his second over.

The required run-rate is up to 13. This is slipping away from New Zealand and quickly.

  19. Postpublished at 04:40 British Summer Time 13 June

A reminder that if West Indies win this game they progress.

That would leave qualification out of New Zealand's hands.

The Kiwis would be eliminated if Afghanistan beat Papua New Guinea on Friday (01:30 BST).

New Zealand can't afford to just crumble.

Even if they lose today, net run-rate is so important that they have to get as close to this target as possible.
