Worst one ever at the office was when someone left a bag of vegetables in the fridge for a week or two, and microwaved those. They were supposed to have been in the freezer the whole time, so had gone bad. And yet they still microwaved them. The totally awful smell lasted *weeks*

Bloke in our office used to stir marmite into super noodles then microwave them. The stench was unbelievable.

Max Headroom: No matter what smelly lunch everyone had, India would easily score 400 on this wicket if they batted first.

Archer continues and Gill seems to be enjoying him.

He tucks in for four through mid-wicket, then times another one nicely to the ropes at backward point.

This hasn't been the most pleasurable viewing for England fans, but look at it this way - my friend has just messaged me to say he's endured a seminar that featured the phrase "solution futuregazing hothousing".

I think I'd happily watch England get bowled out for 37 every single day of the rest of my life than listen to one minute of that sort of fatuous nonsense.

That is Shubman Gill's first ODI half-century against England. He has now scored a 50+ knock against 10 of the 11 teams he has faced in his ODI career. He hasn't scored one against South Africa yet in the four innings he has played against them (highest score of 49).

Dawson is such a better cricketer now than when selected by England. Unfortunately this regime aims at youngsters. Also he wouldn't be able to shrug shoulders after a loss, smile, then play golf... he'd be ranting. Is that a bad thing though?

Funny you should say that Mike - I'm actually not providing the runs at the moment as I've got a hamstring injury.

Now, let me talk you through how it happened in an entirely proportional amount of detail.

Oh wait, before we start - India work five runs off Livingstone's fourth over.

Half-century up for Shubman Gill, coming off 60 deliveries.

England have brought back Jofra Archer in search of breakthrough and Glll knocks his penultimate ball into the covers for a single to bring up his 14th ODI fifty.

His legs may be a little wobbly, but he's put India firmly in control of this match.

I once asked a customer if I could reheat a mackerel and rice dish in his microwave when I was working at his house. I felt confident enough to ask him as I knew him through playing cricket. Oddly enough he never showed up for the next season.

My mate used to work with a guy who used to bring a full breakfast to work in a thermos flask! Rammed in, nice and sweaty, but still work come break time. Still makes me queasy thinking about it.

Gill remains fit to stay out there for now, he lofts the final ball of Livingstone's over for four over cover.

His seventh of the innings, he moves to 48.

Speaking of Liam Dawson, the young son of our shift lead Marc Higginson once accidentally rang him via the home smart speaker.

Dawson was apparently very gracious about it - another tick in the selection column.

England’s lack of bowling depth is being severely exposed here. They need another specialist spinner and it’s crying out for Liam Dawson, but I fear that ship has sailed.

That brings up India's 150 - Gill is definitely struggling with cramps out there, he looks to be in some discomfort.

Jacob Bethell, at 21 years 106 days, is the youngest English cricketer to score 50+ runs and take a wicket in an ODI. The previous record was held by Andrew Flintoff who did it aged 21y 122d against Pakistan in Sharjah in 1999.
