Leus du Plooy takes a four from the first ball of Rehan Ahmed's ninth over to move to 83 and bring up the 150 partnership with Sam Robson.

It's come off 267 balls and Middlesex are now within 90 runs of Leicestershire's first innings.

  5. wicket

WICKET Madsen LBW b Lamb 13published at 14:38 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 71-3 v Sussex 479 - trail by 162

Bright and breezy - but all too brief an innings for Derbyshire.

Wayne Madsen is caught in two minds by Danny Lamb, neither attacking or defending as he shapes to glance the ball to mid wicket and misses.

Struck on the knee in front of middle and off.

Time for Matt Lamb to have a bat.

  6. new ball

New ball taken by Kentpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 268-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 99

Jack Leaning is back in the attack and his latest spell doesn't get off to the best of starts.

His first ball is loose and cut away to point by George Bell for four.

Bell and Matty Hurst trade singles as the lead inches ever closer to three figures.

The new cherry is available - and Kent take it straight away.

Nathan Gilchrist is back on to bowl.

  7. YORKSHIRE DECLARE ON 519-7published at 14:34 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Brook c Gorvin b Crane 65

Jack Brook looks to drive Mason Crane but doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball and is caught at backward point by sub fielder Andy Gorvin.

The Glamorgan bowlers' ordeal is over. Now it's over to their batters.

They will start their second knock trailing by a daunting 298.

  8. Madsen off to a flierpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 61-2 v Sussex 479 - trail by 176

No hanging about for the Derbyshire number four, who dispatches his first two balls to the boundary.

Wayne Madsen's first scoring shot is a steer safely wide of the slips to third man for four.

Four more runs clipped to square leg on the front foot.

  9. 'Glamorgan will try and limit the damage'published at 14:29 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 518-6 v Glamorgan 221

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan know that anything that they do from now on is just limiting the damage and try and nick an extra point and not to lose the one they've got.

  10. 'Another invaluable knock by Tattersall'published at 14:29 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 518-6 v Glamorgan 221

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Another invaluable knock by Jonathan Tattersall for Yorkshire and another victim for Mason Crane.

  11. wicket

    WICKET Reece b Hudson-Prentice 15published at 14:27 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 49-2 v Sussex 479 - trail by 184

And now the other Derbyshire opener has gone.

A full delivery outside off stump from Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Luis Reece has driven at it and played the ball into his stumps off an inside edge.

    Wayne Madsen is in next.

  12. wicket

WICKET Revis b Crane 1published at 14:27 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 518-6 v Glamorgan 221

Four for Mason Crane and a second bowling point for Glamorgan.

Matthew Revis attempts to sweep but misses a ball which has a little turn and is bowled around his legs, hitting off stump.

    Dom Bess is next in.

  13. 50 runs

50 for George Bellpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 247-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 78

Joe Denly is bowling round the wicket to George Bell and a shorter fifth ball is pulled square for four. He's passed 50.

That's his fifth half century for Lancashire and surely his most important to date as the Red Rose strive to bat their way to a competitive target.

    114 balls and five fours.

The next ball is a wide and that brings up the 50 partnership for the seventh wicket in 132 balls.

  14. 200 runs

200 up for Middlesexpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Middlesex 201-2 v Leics 306

Sam Robson and Leus du Plooy need to up the pace if they want to force a result and they are doing just that.

Robson guides Scott Currie away for a single to move on to 86 and bring up the Middlesex 200 in the 59th over.

Du Plooy has 77 of them and the partnership moves to 137.

Leicestershire respond by bringing on England spinner Rehan Ahmed.

  15. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 239-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 70

Kent are seven overs away from the new ball and may well look to hustle their way through with spin until that point.

To that end, Wes Agar is out of the attack and Joe Denly is back on to bowl more leg spin.

George Bell goes back and pushes the ball to long on for one.

Matty Hurst is forward to Matt Parkinson to defend.

A bit more grip and turn in evidence for Parkinson there.

Hurst will keep the strike with a single to the on side.

  16. wicket

WICKET Tattersall st Cooke b Crane 55published at 14:20 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 510-5 v Glamorgan 221

Soon after reaching his fifty, Jonathan Tattersall comes haring down the track at Mason Crane.

He looks to whack the spinner over midwicket but misses and it's the most routine of routine stumpings for Chris Cooke and Tattersall's run-a-ball 55-ball innings is over.

Crane has taken some tap, putting it mildly, but has three wickets.

Matthew Revis is the new man in at seven.

  17. 50 for Jonathan Tattersallpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 502-4 v Glamorgan 221

Jonathan Tattersall sweeps Mason Crane down to third man for his eighth boundary.

Next ball he hoiks the Glamorgan spinner for a six over the midwicket boundary for a maximum and he becomes the fourth batter of the Yorkshire innings to reach a half-century.

That's a 14th first-class fifty for the Yorkshire wicketkeeper and his second of the season. It's come off just 51 balls and also brings up the Yorkshire 500.

He may soon eclipse his best score of the season - 58 versus Gloucestershire in Bristol.

  18. Postpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 232-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 63

Matt Parkinson is bowling full and a little quicker to Matty Hurst, who goes back and turns the ball to leg for no run.

Maiden over. Not a worrying lead for Kent just yet but they'll hope for a wicket or two inside this first hour of the session.

Wes Agar is round the wicket to bowl a bumper to George Bell, who ducks.

  19. 50 for Harry Brookpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 489-4 v Glamorgan 221

Harry Brook has not been at his fluent dynamic best, but runs a Jamie McIlroy ball down to third man for the single which brings up his fifty.

It’s the fourth time he’s reached his half-century in the Championship this season and on two of the previous occasions he’s made a century.

    The England batter's 26th first-class half-century has come off 64 balls.

In the previous over the 50 partnership came up for the fifth wicket.

Unusually, Brook has been the junior partner, with Jonathan Tattersall getting 36 of them.

  20. wicket

WICKET Lloyd LBW b Seales 26published at 14:06 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 33-1 v Sussex 479 - trail by 200

Breakthrough for Sussex and the free-flowing bat of the Derbyshire captain has been halted.

David Lloyd slightly misjudges the length and pace of Jayden Seales and misses a pull shot.

He's on the back foot, struck on the knee roll in front of middle and leg.

Brooke Guest is in at three for Derbyshire.
