Hants 237-7 v Worcs 0-0 (DLS target to win 188)

With Worcestershire's innings now only containing 27 overs, Hampshire will be allowed two bowlers to bowl out six overs and three bowlers to have a maximum of five each.

  2. Intervalpublished at 17:07 BST 20 September

Hants 237-7 v Worcs 0-0 (DLS target to win 188) - play set to resume at 5:15pm

The magic number for Worcestershire is 188, then.

That seems a tricky target on what may well be a slow outfield, following some heavy rain this afternoon.

Pears will have to go at a required rate of 6.96 per over to chase down Hampshire.

  3. Play set to resume at 5:15pmpublished at 16:56 BST 20 September

Hants 237-7 v Worcs 0-0 (DLS target to win 188)

Following an inspection from the umpires, play is set to resume at Trent Bridge at 5:15pm.

Worcestershire will have 27 overs to chase down a new DLS set target of 188.

  4. Pitch inspection underwaypublished at 16:40 BST 20 September

Hants 237-7 v Worcs 0-0 (DLS target 251 to win) - rain stops play

A pitch inspection is currently underway to determine if, and when, we can see some more action in Nottingham this afternoon.

It's been a frustrating final in more ways than one but has also been a final that has provided a lot of quality. Stay with us for more updates.

Remember, we have that 5:36pm cut-off for play to resume this evening.

For anyone who has just called up this live text page (those of you who have bene 'here' for some time, thanks for staying with us), the players have been off the field since 3:58pm because of rain.

Worcestershire were about to start the task of trying to score 251 in 45 overs when the umpires decided the game could not continue at that point.

If they are able to resume, the target and overs total will change.

Hants 237-7 v Worcs 0-0 (DLS target to win 251) - rain stops play

As is the way in Metro Bank One-Day Cup, we will need at least 20 overs of the Worcestershire innings to reach a conclusion tonight.

We are hearing that if we are to get 20 more overs at Trent Bridge today, the match must resume by 5:36pm.

That seems very touch and go at the moment. We will, of course, keep you posted.

As Worcestershire were unable to start their innings on time due to this latest shower, this final will no longer remain a 45-over match and thus the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern target will change.

Once we've worked out the maths, we'll let you know what that adjusted target is.

  8. 'Boos from the crowd'published at 16:03 BST 20 September

Hants 237-7 v Worcs 0-0 (DLS target 251 to win) - rain stops play

    Dave Bradley
BBC Hereford & Worcester cricket commentator

There's light rain falling and the covers are on. The trees in the distance were beginning to disappear and there are boos from the crowd but at the same time they're putting their umbrellas up.

It's quite heavy now, this is not drizzle. The hover cover is coming on and I suspect the big covers will be rolled out now.

  9. rain stops play

Just as we thought we were going to have ourselves a run chase, and with Kyle Abbott about to bowl the first ball to Gareth Roderick, the umpire calls the players off once more as the rain immediately returns, and heavily as well.

The cover and the sheets are now coming on. How disappointing.

  10. Covers are off at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:55 BST 20 September

Hants 237-7 v Worcs (DLS target 251 to win)

    Good news!

The covers are now off at Trent Bridge and we should, unless we get some very sudden rain, get going again in a few minutes time with Worcestershire's innings.

We have lost no further overs in the interval but, if you are late in joining us, we are down to a 45-over match following two rain delays earlier today.

  11. Postpublished at 15:45 BST 20 September

We told you about the rain rules for this match this morning, but here is the pertinent bit from the Notts CCC website once again: "Any reduction in overs which is put in place on Saturday will still apply on the reserve day, with the fixture continuing from the point at which the day's play is abandoned."

  12. Intervalpublished at 15:42 BST 20 September

Hants 237-7 v Worcs (DLS target 251 to win)

In the interval between the two innings', the pitch cover has come on to the crease as rain continues to fall in Nottingham.

Play is set to resume at 3:57pm but there could well be a delay to that estimated start time. We will keep you up to date with proceedings in any case.

So, 251 is what Worcestershire Rapids need to win the One-Day Cup final. Will they chase that down, or will it be Hampshire lifting the trophy? Get in touch and tell us what you think.

  14. WORCS REQUIRE 251 (DLS) TO WINpublished at 15:32 BST 20 September

    Hants 237-7 v Worcs

    Not on this occasion.

Matthew Waite takes a painful blow to the hand but probably saves two runs in doing so.

Hampshire really struggled to find late runs there and finish on 237-7 which is probably under par considering how well they started.

Ali Orr's century of course the bright spot but other than Nick Gubbins (38) no-one else really got going with the bat.

In mitigation, those two rain breaks didn't help with building momentum.

Worcs have kept a lid on Hampshire's scoring very well in these final overs.

It's really not been the glut of runs at the finale Hampshire fans would have wanted.
