Hants 141-2 v Worcs - rain stops play

Ali Orr's unbeaten 71 has moved him on to 563 runs in this season's One Day Cup.

That puts him fourth in the batting charts - another ten runs today would move him into third above Gloucestershire's James Bracey.

Orr's skipper and opening batting partner Nick Gubbins is the man at the top of the tree - with a massive 707 from 11 matches.

Nice moment at Trent Bridge earlier today for Nottinghamshire chief executive Lisa Pursehouse, who is stepping down from the role, external at the end of the season.

Following Thursday's result in the County Championship, it looks like she'll be leaving a title-winning club - but hey, we mustn't speak too soon, count chickens etc etc.

I think Worcestershire will be reasonably comfortable with the situation at the moment, 141 off 30, you're going to have to go some to get 300.

You'd still be looking for that but they're now going to start losing overs as well so things are going to change in terms of our expectations.

The umpires and ground staff are in deep discussions out in the middle where the rain appears to have lightened.

It feels like it might be one of those on the field/off the field type of days.

Frustrating as the batting side and of course we have started to lose overs from this point on.

We had about 40 minutes of play between the two rain breaks so far today.

In that time Hampshire added 35 runs for the loss of Fletcha Middleton who was dismissed by Tom Taylor.

You could hear the rain on the microphones and it's no surprise that we're off again unfortunately.

Fingers crossed it's a short delay as the match is going along nicely.

Tom Taylor is continuing to prove difficult for Hampshire's batters to get away and is he is building the pressure nicely.

No runs from the first five balls of his over and then comes the news we didn't want...

The one thing that you would say about this Worcestershire side is that after a nervy start, they've been really energetic and sharp in the field.

Ethan Brookes comes back well from that disappointment with a couple of fine deliveries.

Nice variation and a extra bit of bounce there bamboozles Toby Albert as it hits him on the glove before falling to safety.

Brookes has been excellent for Worcestershire this season.

Ooh that's loose from Ethan Brookes.

Bowling round the wicket he goes too wide and with wicket keeper Gareth Roderick standing up to the stumps to the medium pacer the ball trickles away for four wides.

Ali Orr plays that one nicely off his pads for a single as everyone keeps their eyes on the umpires between deliveries.

It looks like we're staying out there for now.

Toby Albert is the new man in and it appears he watched Ali Orr's ramp shot earlier as he tries one himself.

It's not really on though and he fails to make contact.

Orr is on 67 but is being given an examination by Taylor and Brookes.

    Dave Bradley
BBC Hereford & Worcester cricket commentator

That's a wicket that Worcestershire will be very pleased to get because they've slowed the run rate down here and Fletcha Middleton was getting a bit frustrated. He drove at that one and was caught by Rob Jones off the bowling of Tom Taylor.

Tom Taylor will get a wicket!

He's earned that reward with consistently good bowling to Hampshire.

Fletcha Middleton struggled to get going and departs for 18 from 33 balls sending a shot straight into the hands of Rob Jones, higher and less well-timed than the one he dropped earlier.

Ali Orr would have been out but it was a horrible throw from Jake Libby. I'm wondering if the ball slipped out of his hand.

Another potential run out is passed up by Worcestershire.

Jake Libby is further away with this effort though and Hampshire escape unscathed.

Libby had a couple of run out opportunities earlier too.

Tom Taylor is back on for a second spell after a very tidy opening six overs earlier on.

He's been economical but can he grab a wicket?

    That's what his side needs.

    Hants 121-1 v Worcs

The first bit of creativity we've seen so far today with the bat as Ali Orr scoops Ethan Brookes' delivery over the wicket keeper for four.

Nice bit of innovation to break the shackles as the Worcs bowlers were putting the squeeze on.

  20. Postpublished at 25 overs

    Hants 115-1 v Worcs

Worcestershire's fielding has improved throughout this innings following a sloppy start.

Rob Jones stops at least two runs, stretching out to his left.

Khurram Shahzad beats the outside of Ali Orr's bat with the final ball of the over - Shahzad looks to have improved since moving to the Stuart Broad end.
