  1. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 & 9-1 v Warwickshire 253

    Emphatically Warwickshire's morning.

The remaining batters did what they had to - led by Beau Webster's brutal 85 - as they added 92 for the last four wickets to get an important lead of 48.

Then Ethan Bamber picked up where he left off in the first innings, seeing off makeshift opener Dom Bess with a deadly in-swinger - a leg-stump-removing conclusion to a delightful set-up.

He came close to getting James Wharton too with more stuff that bounced and nipped.

The Bears ended the session with six maidens as Yorkshire inched towards the break determined not to take any more damage.

The home side trail by 39 - what an afternoon we have in store.

  2. 'Essex bowlers have dominated'published at 13:02 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 106-7 v Essex 206

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

It's been a dominant hour for the Essex bowlers.

We haven't quite seen the extravagant movement that we were seeing at points yesterday but there's been enough and it's been what's done the trick for Kasun Rajitha and Simon Harmer in recent times.

  3. dropped catch

Yusuf dropped on 10published at 13:00 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hants v Durham 432-7

Brad Wheal should have taken that but he spills at mid off from the bowling of Felix Organ.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 3 May

    Rew c Pepper b Rajitha 9 (Somerset 97-7 v Essex 206)

James Rew plays inside one from Kasun Rajitha but not quite enough inside it and the edge flies to Michael Pepper behind the stumps.

Rew tries to front that one out but the slip cordon and bowler were in no doubt that had got a nick and once the finger goes up, the Somerset wicketkeeper accepts his fate with good grace.

Somerset are still over a hundred behind and looking at a first innings deficit. It is obvious to say but how much of one looks key to the outcome.

  5. 'Abbott had too much time to think'published at 12:52 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hants v Durham 412-7

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It was looped up to Kyle Abbott who almost had too much time to think about that one. Sometimes with catches like that you don't really want that.

Even though it's simple, you don't really want catches hanging in the air for too much time.

  6. 'An expert bit of setting up by Bamber'published at 12:47 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 & 9-1 v Warwickshire 253

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Dom Bess played but he was a little bit late on it and a really excellent over from Ethan Bamber.

That was really an expert bit of setting up by Bamber.

  7. 'Somerset are in a mess'published at 12:47 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 86-6 v Essex 206

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Somerset are in a bit of a mess, it has to be said.

It's just what they didn't want and it's a long way back from here against this 206 from Essex which certainly does look above par now.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 3 May

    Potts c Abbott b Dawson 19 (Hants v Durham 412-7)

Liam Dawson has a second and Durham lose Matthew Potts to a top edge 15 minutes short of the lunch break.

It has not been rapid from Durham this morning with 82 added in 23 overs but Potts had tried his best to push things along hitting Felix Organ for two maximums.

In going for another big sweep against spin he has been undone this time, top edging to short fine leg to give Hampshire another.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 3 May

    Bess b Bamber 5 (Yorkshire 205 & 9-1 v Warwickshire 253)

Brilliant from Bamber. No more leg stump.

It's a wonderful set-up from Ethan Bamber. He's hung it outside off stump to Dom Bess, getting it to shape away and then he's got one to go the other way.

Bess bewildered as the ball whistles through his defence and ejects his leg stump.

  10. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 & 4-0 v Warwickshire 253

Warwickshire need to start fast with the ball to really drive home their slim 48-run lead.

Ethan Bamber, star of their first innings, puts the wind up Adam Lyth in his first over - getting one to cut back into the left-hander at pace.

It doubles the former England opener up as it rebounds out to Rob Yates at second slip. The Bears want the finger up but it looks off the thigh rather than inside edge.

Three balls later Lyth plays with much more authority as he push a drive out through the covers with very little fuss.

Yorkshire away in their second innings.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 3 May

    Banton b Rajitha 12 (Somerset 86-6 v Essex 206)

Eeew... Tom Banton gets this horribly wrong taking a big swipe at a widish delivery and dragging it on to his stumps.

Kasun Rajitha is fortunate to get a wicket with that one but Banton was never in control of the shot and a big iniside edge has dismantled his stumps.

Somerset were looking for Banton to bat for a while there and there may be a few heads in hands on the home dressing room balcony.

This is turning into a horror session for the hosts with 40 runs for five wickets since Andy Umeed and Josh Davey.

  12. 'Somerset going down with all hands'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 78-5 v Essex 206

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was a pretty straight forward slip catch to Jordan Cox.

Somerset are going down with all hands at the moment.

This game could be over sooner rather than later with the way things are gong.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 3 May

    Lammonby c Cox b Harmer 13 (Somerset 78-5 v Essex 206)

Somerset are wilting under a spin onslaught.

Simon Harmer has a third of the morning as he draws Tom Lammonby into a big stride before turning it away from the outside edge of the left-hander.

Jordan Cox takes a second catch of the morning.

  14. Division Two latestpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 3 May

Tom Hartley battingImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire have just gone past 400 at Old Trafford, but it's after the 110 over mark so they'll only pick up three batting bonus points. They're 401-8 against Gloucestershire.

Middlesex captain Toby Roland-Jones has played a handy cameo to take their lead over Kent past 100. Roland-Jones hit 24 off 29 balls and his side are now on 234-9 and 105 in front.

Glamorgan are building a good first-innings total against Derbyshire on 396-7 and Northants are off to a solid start at Leicestershire. They're 72-1 replying to the Division Two leaders' 304 all out.

  15. 'An innings that has changed the flow'published at 12:25 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 253 - lead by 48

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

An innings that may not have decided this match but it has certainly changed the flow of it.

  16. wicket

WICKET - Warwickshire all out for 253published at 12:21 British Summer Time 3 May

    Webster c Hill b Sears 85 (Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 253 - lead by 48)

    Yorkshire wrap it up.

Ben Sears drops one short and Beau Webster thrashes a pull straight to George Hill at mid-wicket who admirably clings on to a screaming ball without losing a body part.

The ball before, Joe Root just failed to hang on to a worldie at slip high to his left as Webster thick-edged one that careered away for four.

But it is the end of a brilliant debut knock from the Australian. It's given Warwickshire a handy-looking lead of 48.

    Sears ends with 4-45.

  17. 'A pretty good ball from Sears'published at 12:17 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 244-9

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

You wouldn't want to face too many of those.

Michael Booth looked as though he was containing his enthusiasm for it as he was walking off and I don't blame him.

That was a pretty good ball from Ben Sears.

So, there are some pretty difficult deliveries around but you need to put the ball in the right place to find them.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 3 May

    Abell c Cox b Harmer 7 (Somerset 63-4 v Essex 206)

The momentum is swinging Essex's way and it is spin that has done it.

Simon Harmer has a second of the morning as Tom Abell gets his defensive lines wrong and edges to slip where Jordan Cox takes the catch.

From 46-1 Somerset are now in a bit of a lather at 63-4 and Essex's 206 suddenly looks a half decent effort.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 3 May

    Booth c Bairstow b Sears 6 (Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 244-9)

    Yorkshire celebrateImage source, Rex Features

    Unplayable.

It's a magic ball from Ben Sears. Pace, lift, nip.

No blame to Michael Booth for nicking that. In fact, he's done well to do so.

    Bairstow takes the catch.

That ball could wear out the replay button.

Ethan Bamber is the last man.

    The lead is 39.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 3 May

    Davey b Porter 27 (Somerset 56-3 v Essex 206)

The night watch is over for Josh Davey.

But the Somerset man can go with his head held high not only on account of his batting which was excellent, but on account of the fact that was a delivery that could have taken anyone's wicket.

Jamie Porter fires one at middle and gets it to straighten off the pitch and it beats the defence of Davey, sneaking past his outside edge and clipping off stump.
