  1. Postpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 242-8

Very important the last two Warwickshire batters hang around for Beau Webster.

Michael Booth already doing his bit - punching his third ball back past George Hill through mid-on.

But for Beau Webster's bashing, that would've been shot of the day so far.

Booth takes another couple after a square drive through cover.

The Bears nearing 250 and their lead reaches 39.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 3 May

    Drissell b Dawson 69 (Hants v Durham 371-6)

Spin brings the breakthrough as Liam Dawson chips out George Drissell.

When you have been in a while you have perhaps earned the right to unpack your box of tricks but a reverse sweep gone wrong is always a horrible way to go.

Drissell has batted really well for his 69 but he has got himself in an almighty tangle here, missed and lost his off stump (which had become his leg stump momentarily).

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 3 May

    Smith 19 c Bairstow b Hill 19 (Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 237-8)

    EXACTLY what Yorkshire needed.

Kai Smith takes a couple of steps down the track before playing a forward defensive shot. The ball pretty much stays straight - so Smith's slightly down the wrong line as it takes a thin edge through to Jonny Bairstow.

It's the end of a terrific partnership for the eighth wicket of 74.

Webster may well fully open the taps now.

    Bears lead is 32

  4. Postpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 236-7

George Hill has been impressive this morning - hitting testing length at a lively lick.

He almost gets Kai Smith - the Bears keeper plays at one before trying to take his bat away and it comes off the face but bounces just short of Adam Lyth second slip.

Jordan Buckingham's first ball of his next over is just about controlled by Beau Webster as one comes off the outside edge and runs away through a vacant third/fourth slip area.

Webster then stands up and bashes one off the back foot through cover for his 12th four.

    He's up to 78.

To the last ball of the over Smith edges one again through the empty third/fourth slip area - again for four.

    Annoying for Yorkshire. Very annoying.

    The lead is 31.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 3 May

    Umeed b Harmer 20 (Somerset 46-2 v Essex 206)

Big expansive sweep... and a miss from Andy Umeed and Simon Harmer has a breakthrough.

It has been a slightly unconvincing display from the Somerset man this morning and he has gone with the first big risk he takes, taking the knee and aiming a big shot towards midwicket.

Not a great deal of turn but just enough to sneak through the defences and Umeed is off. Tom Lammonby joins the fray.

  6. 'Somerset will be pleased'published at 11:53 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 42-1 v Essex 206

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

It's been a morning so far that Somerset will be quite pleased with because they might have feared the worst. But at the moment the pitch is playing a bit more like it did yesterday post-tea than it did before tea.

Is it settling down? We'll see.

  7. Third batting point for Durhampublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 3 May

    Durham 356-5 v Hampshire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Graham Clark and George Drissell are continuing to build their partnership in Southampton.

At 152 it's nearly a record sixth wicket stand for Durham against Hampshire. The target to beat is the 156 put on by Dale Benkenstein and Ben Harmison in CLS in 2007.

Clark has 119. His highest total is 124. Drissell is on 66, which is his highest score in a championship game.

Hampshire have had one breakthrough this morning - they managed to get the ball changed. It was only 25 overs old. A ball change yesterday brought a wicket four deliveries later.

  8. Postpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 218-7

Beau Webster battingImage source, Rex Features

Perfect morning thus far for Warwickshire and one that's left Yorkshire wondering how they can throw a blanket over the fireworks we've had, led by Beau Webster.

The all-rounder has taken his partnership with Kai Smith past 50 - the third 50-plus stand in the last four wickets for the Bears - as the pair look to take this lead out further.

Jordan Buckingham's next over is more water tight and nearly brings a breakthrough - Smith chips one in the air high and to the left of a diving Dom Bess at mid-one. Bess gets there but can't hang on to a tough chance.

  9. 'The wicket does start to get quite slow'published at 11:42 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hants v Durham 354-5

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

This is a sort of field that you do see here as we get through towards the middle of the game later on because the wicket does start to get quite slow.

It's an area in where if you stay low then you'll pick up a low catch at some point.

  10. 200 runs

Bears move into leadpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 214-7

The Bears have the lead here - now this game gets REALLY interesting.

Jordan Buckingham is into the attack and his first ball is lofted, gloriously over mid-off for four by Beau Webster.

Two balls later Webster thrashes off the back foot square of the wicket for another boundary. Swear that had a trail of fire behind it...

Next ball is short and wide and Webster climbs in again. Absolutely HAMMERED.

    Man, he hits it hard.

Webster up to 65. The Bears lead by nine.

  11. Middlesex lose three quick wicketspublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 3 May

    Middlesex 178-7 v Kent 129

Kent celebrate wicketsImage source, Rex Features

Kent have just picked up three wickets in 15 balls at Lord's as Middlesex collapsed from 177-4 to 178-7.

The well-set Ben Geddes and Ryan Higgins went in successive overs before Zafar Gohar fell for one.

A good fightback from the visitors this morning, led by Kashif Ali and George Garrett.

  12. 'A brisk half-century from Webster'published at 11:37 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 199-7

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Beau Webster has rode the bounce very well in his first innings for the county.

A brisk half-century, a run a ball more or less and this could be a very significant contribution in this match

  13. 'Pitch is a bit unpredictable'published at 11:36 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 24-1 v Essex 206

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

This is going to be a pretty important day because the minimum requirement for Somerset would be to get within 20 or 30 runs of Essex. They don't want to concede a significant lead batting last.

But if things went well for them this morning - Josh Davey can hang around with Andy Umeed and just start to blunt the attack a little bit and then it could yet be a decent day.

It's another nice batting day and we wait to see if the pitch is going to play as it did yesterday. We suspect it will do but you never know, it's a bit of an unpredictable one. It's a pitch that started green but has offered turn almost from the start which is quite unusual.

  14. 50 runs

for Beau Websterpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 199-7

There have been one or two hairy moments but Beau Webster's complied a battling and important half-century on debut.

It's come off 54 balls with eight fours and that ramp/scoop for six.

He nearly didn't get there - on 48 he was almost cleaned up by a grubber from Ben Coad that beat everyone, including Jonny Bairstow, and went for four byes.

But he heaves one off the back foot over the solitary slip to the rope to bring up his half-ton.

    Bears trail by six.

  15. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 3 May

    Hants v Durham 348-5

Solid but watchful start from the two Durham men this morning who have shored up their overnight position to the tune of 18 runs with few alarms.

George Drissell has moved to 66 and Graham Clark to 115. Brad Wheal and Kyle Abbott are the men in charge of disrupting that progress.

  16. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 24-1 v Essex 206

Andy Umeed has survived a leg before shout, on 7, and replays suggest it was a good decision from the umpire to keep his finger in his pocket with the ball maybe just missing off stump.

It was a dodgy decision to offer pad rather than a bat and this has been a sketchy opening from the Somerset batter with a leg side flick hitting the keeper's fingers and an edge falling short of second slip.

  17. 'Hill is bowling really well'published at 11:26 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 186-7

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

George Hill is bowling really well.

Yorkshire will be obviously wanting to finish off this Warwickshire innings as quickly as they can and try and take a little bit of a lead

  18. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 3 May

    Yorkshire 205 v Warwickshire 186-7

Kai Smith gets off the mark with a sweetly-time clip off his pads out to the square-leg boundary.

That should send a message to his partner at the other end that he can be trusted to hold an end up.

You may remember Smith superb 130 in last season's One-Day Cup against Worcestershire as proof of his promise.

He's also already notched twin half-centuries this summer against Durham.

He picks up another two runs to finish the over from Ben Coad.

    Bears 19 behind.

  19. Singh Dale gets Harris for 167published at 11:25 British Summer Time 3 May

    Division Two latest

Ajeet Singh Dale bowlingImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire batter Marcus Harris could only add two to his overnight 165. The Australian has just been bowled by Gloucestershire paceman Ajeet Singh Dale to leave Lancashire 361-6.

Glamorgan's Colin Ingram also went early, for 81, against Derbyshire. The hosts are 348-7 at Sophia Gardens.

Ryan Higgins has just gone past fifty for Middlesex who are in control against Kent. They're 177-4 at Lord's and lead by 48.

Northants have made a steady start in reply to Leicestershire's 304 all out, moving to 26-0.

  20. Postpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 3 May

    Somerset 21-1 v Essex 206

Josh Davey has absolutely pinged Jamie Porter off middle stump and bang in the middle of his bat, sending the ball racing through the leg side fielders for four.

You would be hard pressed to pick out the nightwatchman here, the Scotland international looks to be enjoying himself.
