    Patterson lbw b Hill (Surrey 198-4 v Yorkshire 255)

Wow! What a couple of minutes for Yorkshire!

One brings two as they say and now Kurtis Patterson is gone for 85.

This time it's George Hill doing the damage and all of a sudden there are two new batters at the crease for Surrey in the shape of Ben Foakes and Jason Roy.

  2. 'He can get some proper treatment'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 198-3 v Yorkshire 255

    Nikki Chaudhuri
Commentator on BBC 5 Sports Extra

He was stuck in the middle there Lawrence, he didn't really move.

To be fair to him, he's done very well to get to 31, he just got completely stuck there.

He can get some proper treatment now, as Yorkshire get their first bowling point.

They'll be happy that they finally broke that partnership.

  3. 100 runs

100 up for Sussexpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 100-5

It's been a bumpy road to the 100 mark for Sussex but they've got there. A lot of work to do to claw their way back in this first innings.

  4. 'They're in a strong position'published at 14:42 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 97-5

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

I'm impressed with how Somerset have probed on a pitch that isn't the best.

They're now in a strong position, almost in complete control.

It's a big, big wicket for Somerset. They're really buzzing at the moment.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lawrence lbw b Coad 31 (Surrey 198-3 v Yorkshire 255)

Finally a breakthrough for Yorkshire and a key partnership comes to an end!

Ben Coad sends down a full in-swinger and it catches Dan Lawrence out as it strikes him on the pads.

The finger goes up and Lawrence is gone for 31.

That stand between Kurtis Patterson and Lawrence was worth 112 runs and the visitors will be glad its over.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 17 May

    Simpson b Overton 6 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 97-5)

What a beauty this is from Craig Overton and another key Sussex batter is removed!

It's on a length outside off from Overton and John Simpson opts to leave it but it cuts back a long way off the pitch and clips the top of off peg.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 17 May

    Bamber c sub b Fuller 15 (Warwicks 177-8 v Hants 300)

Ethan Bamber trudges off as he chips James Fuller to midwicket where sub fielder Sonny Baker dives forward to claim a good low catch.

A useful eighth-wicket stand worth 57 is broken.

    Che Simmons joins Ed Barnard.

    Durham 161-2 v Notts 407

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Hereford & Worcestershire

A bit of positivity for Notts.

They've been under the pumps a bit today.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Ed Barnardpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 17 May

    Warwicks 177-7 v Hants 300

The milestones keep coming at Edgbaston as the home fans get a chance to warm their hands once more.

Ed Barnard punches Liam Dawson's third ball through the offside for a single to bring up his fourth half-century of the season, following up his unbeaten 177 last week.

Today's knock, in difficult circumstances, has come off just 43 balls, with seven fours.

He also took 4-56 in the Hampshire first innings. Where would the Bears be without him

  10. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 94-4

Sussex captain John Simpson times it beautifully for his first boundary, stroking through the covers off Matt Henry.

Henry responds with a jaffa that narrowly misses both bat and the off stump.

Simpson has scored two centuries and a 50 for Sussex this season and is their second top run scorer.

His innings in this match could be a crucial one.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 17 May

    McKinney c Verreynne b Abbas 28 (Durham 156-2 v Notts 407)

Ben McKinney will be disappointed as he fails to cash in on a good start.

After moving to 28 off 32 balls, he plays a loose drive at a Mohammad Abbas delivery which moves away slightly and takes the edge.

Kyle Verreynne takes a routine catch behind the timbers.

Emilio Gay joins his skip Alex Lees.

  12. 150 runs

150 up for Durhampublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 154-1 v Notts 407

Ben McKinney smacks a Freddie McCann drag down back past the bowler's head to bring up the Durham 150 in the 42nd over.

McKinney has moved swiftly to 26 off 30 balls and has helped reduce the first innings deficit to 253 runs.

  13. 6 runs

Big six for Pattersonpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 189-2 v Yorkshire 255

Big hit from Kurtis Patterson and the first maximum of the match so far!

It's slightly short from Jordan Buckingham and Patterson rocks back to pull it for six over square leg.

The ball before, Patterson flashed one away for four through the covers.

He's flown onto 80 not out. A reminder he was dropped by James Wharton on 60.

  14. 50 partnershippublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 17 May

    Warwicks 173-7 v Hants 300

Ed Barnard is beginning to motor as he whips a short ball from the returning John Turner through midwicket for his second four of the over.

Turner's first over back in the attack costs 14 runs.

He then pulls James Fuller through short midwicket for four more and that brings up the fifty partnership with Ethan Bamber (14) from just 41 balls.

The Bears' hopes rest largely on Barnard who has gone to 47 off just 41 balls.

  15. 'It's nicely poised'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 88-4

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

It's nicely poised at the moment.

The ball is 26 overs old but it's moving around still. Somerset have three slips in play now.

  16. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 88-4

Sussex skipper John Simpson finally gets himself off the mark on his 10th ball, punching down the ground for two from Josh Davey.

Opener Daniel Hughes is holding up an end well for the visitors and is on 32 from 78 balls.

These two are going to have to try and really dig in here.

  17. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 177-2 v Yorkshire 255

Oof, maybe this change of ball is just doing something for Yorkshire.

Jack White gets one to nip back off the seam and it has Dan Lawrence in a bit of trouble.

Not sure if he got a tiny nick on it but wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow wasn't able to make the catch regardless due to how much it moved.

A few balls later, Lawrence tries to thrash one through the leg side and immediately clutches at his back. He's still in pain with that injury.

  18. 150 runs

150 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Warwicks 152-7 v Hants 300

It's been hard work, but the Bears reach another little milestone as they bring up 150.

Ed Barnard pounces on a short, wide loosener from James Fuller and lifts it over Liam Dawson at cover for his fourth boundary.

He goes to 29 and has put on 32 with Ethan Bamber (11).

The hosts really need to get the deficit down into double figures as a bare minimum. but it still looks a long way off.

  19. Postpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 17 May

    Worcs 358 v Essex 84-4

Am I the only person totally underwhelmed by the current (and recent) Essex performances? So many pundits had them as favourites for the title. However, it seems that the bowling attack is blunt, and the batting pretty unfit for purpose.

John, frustrated Essex fan in Norfolk

What do you think Essex fans? Do you agree with John?

Essex had the Pears where they wanted them yesterday but let them off the hook a little in the latter part of the day and are now struggling with the bat.

  20. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 177-2 v Yorkshire 255

Yorkshire have managed to get a change of ball for one of a similar age (about 47 overs).

They'll be hoping it's got a bit more about it than the previous one with their first innings lead now down to only 78 runs.

Certainly signs that it's moving through the air and slightly off the track from Jordan Buckingham as Kurtis Patterson plays and misses.
